How would you know? Has Sparks played any games for the Marlies? I would think since Johnsson, Moore, Goat, Holl, and yes even Marincin not being there hurts them. But if you insist it’s Hutch’s fault that they aren’t a Calder favourite, who am I to argue? - Arctic_AARDVARK
I would think a record of 32-19-10 is pretty good..
Maybe it's not all on Hutch. |

Because it doesn't take a genius to see that the goals that are going in should always be saved. That he's routinely out of position. That he has one of the worst gloves you'll ever see (he snaps at the puck, doesn't catch it). His rebound control is impressively worse than Sparks'.
But what do I know. I only watch most of the games and I'm not retarded.
Also, I feel like I need to clarify; I don't think Sparks is great or anything. Just better. |

Doesnt Hutch catch right? Probably why his glove looks off. Sparks is probably the worst goalie I’ve ever seen (in an NHL game) positionally. Dude is way too twitchy imo. I thought Hutch looked pretty good backing up Freddy.

I will be giving zero (frank)s about Saturday’s game. I’m going to the game on Friday.

He catches with the right hand, yeah. So that's part of the reason, but if you watch him try to catch it he snaps his hand forward in a jerky motion. Doesn't let the puck come to him. That's why he drops the puck all the time, and it leads to goals and chances against. The goalie that was on my ball hockey team did the same thing. So it really annoys me.
And I agree with you that Sparks is twitchy. But I also think that Sparks would be a lot better if he played more than 2 or 3 times a month. |

I have never understood, what they see in Marincin.. The dude wasn't good enough to be on the Oilers, the freakin, Oilers.... Why does he keep getting chances here? - PatC80

That would be annoying. You’d think by the time he makes the NHL that they’d coach that out of him.

Welp. I don't think the discussion about Hutchinson matters anymore. He just got pulled in the game. Think he might be hurt? Or sick? |

I can't understand either. At this point, he's not a late bloomer. He's 26. This is what you get. Let's say there's some confidence issues. I think even if you could build up his confidence, he's not good enough at his best to be worth the time it would take to get him there.
It's like Aki Berg syndrome - I think both of them are summarized by this same scounting profile: he's tall, is capable of making a nice outlet pass, not great, but above average skater, has the tools to not hinder offensively, but won't put up points.
Aki Berg was awful as well, but he stuck around here for 4 years (or maybe I meant to say he stunk around here for 4 years). |

For sure. It doesn't even seem like an overly hard thing to coach out of him, either. |

I honestly don't get it. They've put him on waivers, like 2-3 times.. They got to let him leave... Dubas just seems like a stage-4 clinger at this point.. |

Back when we had schenn, i recall so many people saying that dmen dont hit their potential until they 27-28. Which was funny to me then.
Now, 26.....seems to be their peak.
But i agree, marincin isnt changing much. What you see is what you get.
Time to get rid of him |

he is depth, in case, you know the Leafs have a few injuries like Gardiner and Dermot, and the Marlies have injures like Borgman and Rosen....all at the same time
Do you think there is a bunch of better options just waiting to be a 7th or 8th D. you get what you get with those players.
And if there are better options..well they get claimed when you put them on waivers.
So when you have multiple injuries..you get Holls and Marincins
oh also, factor in that MM was a pretty decent part of the Marlies win last season. Dubas being the GM at the time, I understand why hes keep him around |
