I have heard that if you say the word 12 times in a row, while rubbing one out and standing in front of a mirror, with an angry look on your face, you can get the diabeetus too..

The Leafs have the highest PDO, which usually points to a Team getting lucky. A few teams have been able to maintain a higher PDO that have elite G and shooting talent. (caps a few years ago) but then you have the 2013 Leafs who imploded, but I see this Leafs team as the former

The Leafs have some good stats in regards to 5v5 (goal diff etc) that is best in the League.

I am more confused as to what is the most meaningful stats when more and more stuff is coming out.

Speaking of PDO, Bruins are by far tops sinve their winning streak started with 104

Didn't you head down to a Leafs playoffs game a year/2 ago?

Did you make any Leaf games this year?

- Garnie

No Leaf games for me. I mean if an opportunity fell into my Lap of course I go.
I usually hit up the games when the Leafs are playing the Sens in Ittawa, but not this year. Mainly because I havent had anyone to go with.

on the season they are around the 1.000 mark, which is usually an indication that a team is who you think they are, and in thier case..a really good team

I didnt look, but I assume early on they were not getting the luck and had a rough PDO, and as we see over a season those things tend to even out.

over the years I have turned down many Sens games, If they arnt playing the Leafs I dont even want to go for free.

a few years ago the Sens were doing some promotion and had sparky the cat or whatever he is show up at random locations handing out a free pair of ticket, I walked into CT and they said here are some free tickets and tried to hand me some, I said no thanks..not interested

I find PDO is such a weird stat. Basically it comes to - who capitalizes upon their chances, and the assumption that it averages and that an NHL player is an NHL player.

More often than not, PDO is tied to teams that have a large number of High Danger Scoring chances (ironically the teams who have generated the most HD chances are Carolina, San Jose, and Vegas and all have a lower PDO; but there's a relatively observable correlation.

In other words - you make your own luck is an adage that I think is true.

Is Mike Babcock a good coach? I think he's a good inspirational leader, has his players backs (never says they were 'just ok' after a good game), but sometimes I question his player deployment and in-game adjustments (or lack thereof)

I literally fired off a tweet 30 seconds ago arguing the exact opposite of this comment

No Leafs want to play for Babs. They play for themselves. Boston plays for their coach

its a pretty basic stat you can look at quickly and get an idea of whats happening. I dont put much more thought into it.
