The announcers for the Islanders said during their Tuesday game (I live in CT, so I was able to watch it) that if all the conditional picks work in Ottawa's favor, that they would have seventeen picks in the first three rounds for the next three drafts. Is that true? I cannot seem to find a decent website that shows what teams have what picks in upcoming drafts and what conditions are applied to what picks (anyone know of any?).

CapFriendly displays them, although for some reason they aren't showing the potential extra CBJ and SJ picks. They have 15 for sure, 17 max.

Ottawa recieves 2019 first round pick.

If Duchene re-signs, Ottawa also receives a 2020 first round pick.

However, If Columbus' pick this year is in the top 3, Ottawa gets next year's pick instead, so ottawa would pick in 2020.

In the unlikely chance Duchene re-signs, and Columbus' pick is in the top 3 this year, Ottawa would get picks in 2020, and 2021.

Should especially note the number of early round picks in 2020. I have not done much follow up yet on the 2020 prospect pool other than following the numbers for Byfield and Lefreniere. The pool is very rich at the top and supposedly deep as well.

CapFriendly stopped showing potential picks earlier in the year. I think the line in the sand is that they'll show conditional picks that are definitely in place based on the most likely scenario (eg. the CBJ 1st round pick from the Duchene trade showing as being in 2019, even though it's lottery protected and could technically move to 2020), but won't show picks that may never be transfered (eg. the conditional 2nd round pick in 2021 from SJ, based on Karlsson resigning).

The really interesting thing about that conditional Karlsson pick is that it becomes a 1st round pick in 2021 if Karlsson resigns AND the Sharks make the Stanley Cup Finals in 2019. Given that they have the 2nd best record in the Western Conference, and are just 1 point off with a game in hand from home ice advantage through to the Conference Finals, that condition doesn't seem like nearly as much of a reach as it did earlier in the season.

I think there is a very good chance Duchene resigns in Columbus. There are a lot of top UFAs on the market this summer. There are also teams struggling with the CAP that will need to move players. The demand for a Duchene may not be nearly as strong (in dollar value). The Tavares signing may have been an exception that excited players and agents. But not a lot of space for too many teams. Remember, huge pressure on team's budgets coming from RFA's wanting big contracts now.
