We are currently on pace for 106 points - 1 point better than last year.

Tampa's currently on pace for 130 points - 2 shy of the Habs in 1976-77. Yes, no OT in 76-77, but it's still a frightening pace by the Lightning.

The Lightning are frightening.

Yeah, I just did that.

- Atomic Wedgie

The Lightning have

2 1st line Centremen
The Hart/Art Ross winning winger
A Norris level defender and a second top pairing defender on their second pair
A Vezina level goalie
Everybody healthy

Of course they are scary.

Schenn can't skate.

It's a big problem in today's NHL.

Just ask Komisarek.

- Atomic Wedgie

But would you take him over marincin....i just might.

The Leafs are improved in the winning games in regulation or OT area.
Last season they were 7-2 in a SO with 42 ROW

This season 0-0 in a SO and aleady 41 ROW

TB this season is 6-1 in a SO.

Also the Goal Dif should be improved with roughly the same team SV%
Leafs are improved, its just not showing in the NHLs stupid points system

Now...do the Leafs have that is the interesting question, because the argument can be made for "yes."

He would be the top RD on this team
>Hainsey, Zaitsev, Holl, Ohziganov

- mr.sir

He's not better than hainsey. Hainsey might be being played too much...but he's been decent. I know plus minus is overrated...but leading the league has to count for something.

Schenn simply couldn't play in the Leafs' system - he's far too slow.

I didn't follow Schenn when he played in TOR or PHilly, and i don't follow Marincin at all, but just basing this opinion on the few games that Schenn has played for VAN, he has been fantastic. When i say fantastic, i mean, for what he brings and acknowledging his limitations. He is paired with an AHL first year Dman and i believe they haven't been on the ice for a goal against in 4 or 5 games. Schenn gets the puck out of the zone, makes safe neutral zone passes and exits, and is non-existant in the offensive zone. Not sure how that measures up to Marincin, but Schenn has been very very safe defensively in his short stint with us.

I think they could hide that slowness. But I'm talking like him playing 14 to 15 min a game. Obviously their pro scouts agreed with you though or we would have claimed him and his 700k contract on waivers. But that doesn't stop me from being curious. Always had a soft spot for schenn. He played hockey the right way...stuck up for his teammates.

His cup of coffee in the ahl did a lot for his confidence. I hear anyways from some hockey folks. He's still slow as (frank) as wedgie says...but I bet you he's very similar to gudbranson for youbguys.

Schenn has Gudbransons speed (which is slow), but is virtually better at him in every other category. Gudbranson is awful.

just from watching last night, I thought Kapanen was the best player on the ice for both teams. Man that kid can skate.

I guess i just expect Marner and Matthews to always be like that, and I agree, Marner was a beast last night, but Kapanen (to me anyway) really stood out. Has a heavy shot too.

Yeah he skates like the wind..

But.. he needs to work on his vision, if that makes sense.. he’s a North/South player with an average shot and blazing speed. He gets 2 breakaways a game. Johnsson on the other hand I think see the game better and probably does everything else as well as Kappy.. but for some reason we all prefer Kappy, probably because of his swagger.

he had a few wristers last night that were pretty heavy i thought. Again, I don't watch the leafs on a regular basis, so you would know better than i would, but I thought he was dangerous all night. Defensively, I thought he didn't look bad either, and take it from a guy who watches a team who has a ton of defensively inept forwards

I always liked the guy, and my impression of him (which may or may not be accurate) was that he seemed like a nice guy off the ice.

I wish nothing but the best for Mr. Schenn. I hope it works out for him in Vancouver.

But I don't want to see him in a Leafs uniform ever again.

Kapanen has played 113 regular season games for the Leafs.

Johnsson has played 69.

I'm guessing a big part is simply that we've seen Kapanen more - we are still forming our opinion on Johnsson.

I'll bet someone offer-sheets Kapanen.

You’re right.. he creates a lot of space with his size.
