Even the Bruins in 2011 won more because of an amazing goaltending performance than toughness. I don't know why the Bruins are held up by Debbie Downer Leaf fans as this juggernaut, it's not like they've done much since then and they beat the Leafs in the last period of a Game 7, before the Leafs added Tavares and with many of the Leafs' key players lacking experience.

In recent seasons, the Bruins have been eliminated by the Sens, Habs and Red Wings, and also missed the playoffs twice. Those teams aren't heavy teams. So the Leafs can't beat Boston? Why not?

Right?

Point, Kuch etc etc. Gotta take them out and play Girardi more! Hell, play him at wing!!!

what's more likely: leafs getting smashed into the boards so they play timidly and lose or pastrnak scoring 6 goals a game and leafs lose?

I was also thinking of those Isles fans. I get that they're sad he left, but seriously, just so classless. But they say they're "over it and over him".

I fully believe that if Matthews leaves us after his next contract simply so he can go play somewhere else like AZ (assuming they still have a team), he'd receive a standing ovation when he came back to Toronto even if we were pissed that he left.
You show respect for all they did when they wore your jersey, and the fact that they chose to leave doesn't wash away all the good times they helped create.

Also funny seeing this pic from the Isles vs Ottawa game. Where are all those engaged, passionate fans this game lol?

Apparenlty Islanders are 31st in attendance the past two years.

Not overall.

They have a couple of guys - Hedman, Girardi, Callahan (if he plays)- who can, but it's not a big feature of their game.

Rangers beat the mighty B's with our 'AHL team' last month. Need to hit them all the time though. The ol' Forsberg reverse hit makes them cry a lot...

Same here, glad I didnt watch after that

At least they got a point, but looking extremely unlikely the Leafs catch the Bruins. Losing to bad teams seals your fate most of the time.

Zaistev is not good because he has to play with Gardiner and cover for him and his terrible play

In a normal circumstance id agree, but they need a big run to get home ice and need to beat mediocre teams like the Canucks.

would you feel better if they lost in OT to a good team like Calgary and beat the Canucks?

If they get 3/4 points the rest of the way, thats a 123 point season pace.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Rielly and Zaistev when they were together, not good. Gardiner and Zaistev when they were together, not good. Muzzin and Zaistev together, not very good.

So Babs rolling out Ennis-Goat-Moore is gonna be the thing now that the 4th line experiments seem to be over? Seemed like with Petan centering, it was underwhelming - even though Goat plays a soft game, I think that's what's gonna be permanent until Kadri bumps one of them off.

Yes likely haha, but no because they need the points. They can lose to bad teams if they want a chance which already seems daunting.
