I'd at least try and make the change by not signing him. Signing him is not moving forward in my opinion. I'm not comparing players but I'd be alright with Hutton taking Edlers 5 on 5 role since Hughes will be on the PP even if his 5 on 5 minutes are "managed". Yes, I'm confident they start him on the Canucks next season. No I don't care if whomever isnt as good as Edler over all. Being handcuffed by injuries is ok the last couple of seasons for the draft but things are changing and that will just rip the kids off of a honest chance at success.

He takes up all the PP time and does not produce.

20 points in 40 games is pretty good production. Benn isnt very good, would be better than our bittom three guys I suppose but there’s no need to put lipstick on a pig. He cant play big minutes.
