Then the correct report came out that it was 6 years and that all went out the window

So I guess I got it in my head that we should have drafted Bell (who, IIRC, had played on Team Canada at WJCs that year, although I wm probably wrong). Even though Bell went before Antropov.

Who the (frank) signs him to that deal? Everyone and their mother know that was going to be a terrible contract. At least the Clarkson one happened years ago when it wasn't as apparent the league was transitioning to skill and speed.
