Because the gull never colluded with the Pigeons despite what the chickens say. He hasn't even had a phone call to Pigessia or business deals with Pingeons in years. Years. Anything else said about the matter is fake news perpetuated by the fear mongering chickens try try and pry the presidency from the gulls. Make Birderica Great Again and I, Gull, am the bird and the chickens are all total losers.

He is not worth what he is getting paid, at all. There are guys on the Leafs right now making far less than he with far more value. You do realize contracts are given out for performance, so you can actually see whether or not they are living up to that value right? Keep stroking your Bonier bud....

He’s not worth what he’s getting paid? But he can be traded for a high level upgrade on defense? I’m not seeing how these correlate..

Bloody hell not this nonsensical crap from the same assinine people?!

Skipping the my opinion is fact and you all are wrong blah blah blah crapfest....

Least Sparks was cheap. Not sure I would have bothered but then again might get a team wanting to take a flyer on him and depth in net is also NOT a bad thing there either. I feel at this point he is what he is and is a medicore at best backup that won't improve skill wise if he hasn't shown signs of it yet at this point. That said why let a cheap asset walk and get nothing really in return when he could be part of a trade for a useful part.

Honestly can say the one guy I think that we lose and at this point kind of wish we could find a way to keep is Ennis. Guy has been damn good as a bottom line energy guy and he has produced as well. Can't see him not going and getting more money, sucks but he definitely earned it.

I suspect Shanny, Dubas, and Co have a plan well in place and are working it to continue to build the team up and go through making and keeping the team strong for years.

As usual just a lot of trolls and mouthpieces spouting off so they have something to say and saying actually very little at all. Typical trolls and media and other jealous fanbase fans.

Trading under performing players with large cap hits for players that are on value contracts always happen.. re; Larsson/Hall trade..

Nylander is a 5 million player because you said so?

Matthews > Tavares. Stats prove this.

Leafs are 4th in the league. Another factual statement.

Try again.

- Dongull_Trump

At a full season pace he is an 11 goal, 34 point player currently. Actually 5 million is generous at the moment. 20 and 60 is 5 million. Who is paying 22 years old 60 point players 7 million that set this precedent?

He might have fetched a top 4 in the summer when he should have been dealt. Not anymore.

judging by your writing style, you've never player hockey at a reasonable level - therefore you can't chime in...

Similar to this past off season.....

If we can acquire quality FA while giving up nothing.... that is good asset management

Eg. Duchene wants to play with his good bud Tavares.

We can sign him, and move another part for significant assets (Nylander?). That is how you build a winner.

- mr.sir

There’s been a lot of rumours that’s skinner wants to be a Leaf.

Not just Eklund

It’s a pipe dream but who knows.

If Skinner is willing to do 7x7 do you package Kadri with Z to fit skinner in and take the extra couple mil in cap space? It’s fantasy land but who knows. Dubas is a wild thinker.

Nylander has looked awesome the past 20 games

Don’t get too invested in looking at points. 40 games is an insalney small sample size especially considering Nylander was out of shape for 10 of them.

Where does Skinner fit in though? That is going to be the question there. Hyman, Johnsson, Kap, Nylander, and Marner on the wings as is.... unless you drop Kap or Johnsson down to 3rd line?? Nylander would have to cover the 3rd line center then?
