There’s been a lot of rumours that’s skinner wants to be a Leaf.
Not just Eklund
It’s a pipe dream but who knows.
If Skinner is willing to do 7x7 do you package Kadri with Z to fit skinner in and take the extra couple mil in cap space? It’s fantasy land but who knows. Dubas is a wild thinker. - Santo_44
Yes, since we are weak on LW |

So what are you saying? Nylander doesn't have potential going forward? He's peaked already? - lonnyBohonos
he probably peaked in World Juniors |

He doesn't do the little things enough to make more headway no. They signed him on the notion that he would become more than what he was. He will be at best what he was. On another team that may hold value, but on a club that boasts 7 guys with 20 goals by the end of the year and couple more pretty close, paying one of them that kind of money takes away cash from other more pressing areas. He should have been traded, I thought they were going to in the summer, now unless he has a crazy post season the club is stuck with him, and will have ship out other guys. |

He creates chances and drives possession while limiting shot attempts when he’s on the ice.
What do you want? A choppy stride that makes him look like he’s skating harder than he is? |

So brown and zaitsev getting moved to fit nylander kap and Johnson is a bad move? That’s retarded and you know it

You do know Burke isn’t the gm anymore and that there’s a good reason that he’s not right? |

He's okay on the Leafs at a more realistic price tag. The club literally does not need him. At all. They were in second place when he signed. Why would a team sign a guy they didn't need for more than he's worth when there were interested teams in the trade route? It's a backwards model in a hard cap era. It has now put added pressure on the massive cap issue they have this summer. They have no chance of adding, only subtracting after this season. I will enjoy this season, I think they have a very good team, although not enough playoff style guys. But I hope they can do well because they will be worse next year. |

Also elite at zone exits and entries with possession. I would say he is doing all the little things right just not getting the results.
He missed the start of the season when scoring is up relative to the rest of the season. His stats would be a little more padded with that time. He's hitting his stride finally, scoring will come just in time. Next year he'll be back to previous years levels, possibly higher. |

Browns cap hit is so low it will do very little. No one is giving the Leafs picks for Zeitsev. |

So they trade him for a defenseman that costs roughly the same or more and are in the same predicament.. your logic makes zero sense. You value hyman and brown more than nylander, and there’s probably 32 gms in the league that would laugh in your face and gladly take any deal you come up with.. it’s not a coincidence the vast majority of guys on here are saying your opinion is dumb |

Browns cap hit keeps one of Johnson or kap and I never said I was expecting to get picks for zaitsev, he can be moved for a bag of dirt IF we need to make space |

Actually it makes perfect sense because they don't need another skilled forward but they really need better d. Leafs have a very disproportionate cap distribution to their forwards as it is, let alone Marner next year. Keep stroking your little Bonier. |

Top ten in goals against.. I didn’t know that was terrible? .. also who the (frank) cares if there’s a disproportionate cap distribution? Move great players for poop ones to spread the money out? Again, you’re dumb |

No it doesn't. Moving brown only gets you 1.35 million in space once you replace him with an entry level guy. Kap and John are going to take deals barely north of 1 million? Let's say someone does take Z for nothing. Now he is replaced with what? How are they better then? If they seek a d man at his money that is better they will have to trade for that guy. They will have to move out other assets. They made a big problem for themselves after this year. Hope they do well this spring. |

Well, as soon as the Leafs have perennial MVP candidates and Vezina winners I guess it's all good. Oh and the best player in the world. |

People who are smarter, more knowledgeable, and more experienced than you are in charge of the cap. They aren’t the Ducks management. They know what they’re doing. |
