Serious question... do you think any gms that have been around for 4+ years have done well? We know your thoughts on Rutherford, holland, shero, bouman, tallon, bergevin, poile and McPhee for sure... I just wanna look at the gms that you think have done well for 4+ years and do some comparisons

You are right in terms of them not necessarily being in a dire situation but they are not really in the divisional race at the moment.

Yah, I see those a lot, but 4 points separating 2nd and 4th place isn't that big. Caps have a 6 point lead, but the Pens play them once and the caps play the lightning 3 times, twice inTampa. Also have Carolina twice. I think the metro comes down to the last few days IMO

I've been reading all the squabbling. The stats don't paint a pretty picture of JMFJ nor does watching him in action. The stats don't paint a pretty picture of Gud either, although thus far watching him, he appears to be holding his own. But, this is where the distinction lies: Holding your own at 1.5m= good. Holding your own at 2-3m=meh. Holding your own at 4m= bad value, not good. Handcuffed. 3.75m and needing to be sheltered is lunacy. To be fair, I think that Maatta is overvalued/bad value as well, just not nearly as bad as the other two mentioned.

The fact that Ryan Wilson has any sort of affiliation to the pens no matter how minuscule takes a little bit of joy out of being a fan of the team. Hockey has been violent since day 1. Pk is all 1-1-2 now in the nhl. Every line plays the same system and forcheck. Hockey is way more boring than the 90s. I would love the pens to have a trapping 3 rd line and a hit everything fourth.
