they actually have a +70 goal differential and if you disagree you clearly weren't a statistician growing up

Possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard. How that is even being brought up in the meeting is a complete joke. Wow lol

Lets reward a team for one of their players doing something against the rules and receiving a suspension. Yup great idea!

Im pretty sure the complaint is that team has to fill that spot which takes up additional capspace. Id think the only potential help they should recieve is a minimum level salaray player adjustment for only during that time. No actual cap relief

I think it's a non-issue: there are not enough suspensions in the league (and for long enough) that it's even worth figuring out the cap implications.

Worse, it'll probably piss off the team that was on the receiving end of the suspension penalty.

I love how Dubas is on top of poop and gets low key good players to fill out the roster and cheap. Ennis for under 700k, and Moore is signed for 2 mooore years at 775k.

Also moving out Par who was a UFA for Petan who is younger and cheaper and and RFA who can fill in next season on the cheap

not signing poopty players like Komarov and Martin for 2.5mil + to give you less value and become cap problems.

Cherry--Skoal was pulling the you-didn't-play-hockey card on everyone that disagreed with him.

Ironically, I didn't play hockey (parents couldn't afford it, but played a ton of road hockey) but I was actually agreeing with him

You have to think that at some point, he's going to exert some pressure (if he hasn't already) to play certain players.

Every GM says that they don't interfere with lineups, and in principle, sure, but if my guys are doing stupid poop I'm not going to sit there and say, "welp, I won't micro-manage so I'll let them (frank) this project up royally!"

I don't have any disdain for Freddy Gauthier, but I'd really like to see Babcock roll out Ennis, Petan and Moore as a 4th line. Just to see if they can cause a little havoc.

Didn’t see who the 3 stars were, but andersen should’ve been 1st star even though ennis had a hat trick. He played well but some flukey goals for ennis. Andersen made some great saves.

I think Gauthier runs some pretty good interference on that line, provided he's in on the cycle with them; even standing in front of the net does good things and he can win draws, so not sure how good of a center Petan would be in that sense.

Still, it's worth slotting Ennis and Moore with Nylander until Kadri's back, play Goat with Paddy and Brownie. See how real this production is from Ennis and Moore, playing against tougher matchups.

Also, MGB would be a more than respectable 4th line too.

I suspect there is a lot of things Babs does that Dubas is not down with in regards to lineup and matchups and whatnot.

the way this season ends will be interesting, if the Leafs flame out again in the 1st round there will need to be some shake ups.

I also suspect Dubas has some plan for Keefe down the road, he has to have told him something to keep him happy. They seem to have a much better working relationship in terms of what Dubas wants to do and how they want to play

I want to see
Ennis nylander Moore
Marleau kadri brown

Nylander needs more finish on his line. Brown is useless and marleau doesn’t have much finish either. With kadri on that line they could be a shut down line and maybe bang in a few goals.

I think we played a near perfect road game. Got a bit filled in during the 2nd period and Freddy made some great saves all night, but with our injuries, on the road, against the #2 in the league, can't really ask for much more than that.

And that's it, right? Being able to play Junior at any kind of level doesn't just require overcoming a talent barrier, it also requires overcoming a financial one. For me personally, even if I did grow up in a place where ice was abundant, and the nearest rink wasn't an hour drive away, there's no way the Lum's could have afforded to enroll me in that.

If hockey was even slightly affordable for many lower income families, there'd be a much higher pool of talent from which to choose...

Yep, loving the Ennis signing. God help the team that signs him next year though (hopefully the habs).
