Exactly....it’s about puck movement and deception. The reason guys like OV and Laine are so open on that left half wall is because the other four guys are moving the puck so well the other team starts collapsing on them and boom a quick pass to OV for the one timer.

I agree. Is that motion created by pure skill or does coaching have an impact?

I think your motion comment is spot on and that can be fixed by better coaching. IMO speed on the power play is not nearly as important as speed during 5x5.
- bloatedmosquito

Goes back to my comment about skilled players. Guys get more time and space from the opposing team when they know you can burn them with a skilled move, Pettersson, H. Sedin.

When they watch film and know you need a pail to carry the puck they’re not afraid to pressure you.

I like him, I don't think he really gets mentioned as an elite dman, I'd say he's in that next tier or 2. He can play shutdown minutes and give you 30-40 points if he gets PP time, that's pretty damn good.

I know a couple of Jets fans, they don't like Myers at all lol and they like Morrissey just as much as Trouba which I found surprising so I guess they agree that Trouba is a bit overrated and Morrissey is underrated.

Thanks Carol

I like the switching up of lines . Let's face it the next 17 games is an audition for next year. Hopefully we won't be fooled by another Leipsic.

Never did like Soccer . Eleven men running around in shorts and ripping off their shirts showing off their sweaty chests in a field , falling all over the place writhing in pain and embellishment sounds more like a Nucker fantasy picnic than a sport .

Don't think anyone can tell you with a straight face that Tanev is in the same tier as Trouba.

I’m not convinced. I think there’s something to the Trotz Factor in regards to special team success. I point to NYI as my example.

He's American, so that is an obvious clue.
I Don't mind him, I just think he isn't as good as some think he is.
Getting points on a Jets stacked team isn't really saying that can translate into the same on a lesser team like the Canucks.

There's are reason the success rate is so low, plus I really don't think JB has the stones for something like that, and stuff.
- VanHockeyGuy

Probably true. What makes this year different is that there are a number of teams very close to the cap who might not be able to match if someone came after their stars. I believe Tor, Wpg, TB are the three that are facing the most pressure.

We have a long way to go before we see whether this might be a legitimate possibility, or if it's just a red herring being waived by agents to try to get deals done at maximum dollars for their clients.

I agree but Tanev is slotted as our #1 top RHD next year. Fans say our D sucks and then slot the same players in next year hoping for better results.

I really hope we move the play out of our own end next year and go with a younger faster D

Never saw Tanev as offensive & playing on the Jets oughta pad a D’s stats. Trouba for a conditional 1st & a 3rd is my offer. 7/6.5m

Dude, why are we're even talking about this, the only thing more established then the top notch quality of our coaching staff, is the fact that the cap won't be a problem for the next 3.5 years.

So, not only will we have no trouble resigning petty and brock, we'll also have space to sign both Panarin and Karlsson to 10m plus contracts without issue.

Leave the coaching staff be, as soon as we weaponize our cap we can sign Panarin, Karlsson, Myers, duchenne, and throw an 11m offer sheet at Laine. Then you'll see what the best coaching staff will do.

I believe the Islanders PP is at 16.2%? Their PK is at 80%, they defend well but the don’t have that skill factor to have a 29% PP like Tampa.

Pittsburgh 25%
Boston 26%
Washington 22%
Toronto 22%

Morning boredom. Just don’t buy the predictability argument. I think the playbook sucks regardless of skill level.

Agree to disagree, until Karlsson signs elsewhere, I've got him penciled in above tanev in the depth chart.

This is exactly my point .

If you put Trouba with Pouliot Biega Gudbrandson Tanev , he will probably suck. So is the idea then not to change up the current roster to make it better?

Trouba this year has one more point than Edler (Canucks best Dman ) has had in the last 7 years.

How about you put a guy like Trouba with Hughes and guy like Dougie Hamilton with Edler instad of Pouliot Tanev Biega Gudbrandson
