So what about where I talked about this year?
You are one of the most stubborn contributors to this community I've ever exchanged with, and dont take that as me wanting you gone or not around or anything, thats not the case. Its just that not only does pretty much every other single person here disagrees with you but also the actual stats arnt on your side either
I just showed a plain as day example that you are absolutely wrong about Phil and Geno and you don't acknowledge it at all.
PS: I can be very stubborn around here too... - MattStrat
I'm just having some fun. Absolutely right I am being stubborn. It has just been annoying listening to so many people blame all of the Pens woes on a bottom pair defenceman.
Kessel is great at scoring and thats exactly why the Pens got him. But the expectation is that when a player of his caliber is playing with a player of Malkins caliber, they should be able to pick up the players around them.
I'm sure Kessel would be the first to admit he is not playing good right now. It's just odd how everyone here wants to make excuses for him. |

JR isn’t that good. Nice try. - Rinosaur
Okay fair enough. Make the 1st a 3rd instead. |

Fun fact: on almost every MTL armchair on cap friendly he gets traded away. When will my large adult son finally be appreciated. |

So revised deal: Kessel for Thompson a third and a turd. |

If JR can get them to throw in that turd you make that trade ten out of ten times. |

The turd was a former third overall in this case so I agree with you. |

Eh... I think Tatar and Kessel could look good together.
Go and do a non crazy trade that we will shoot down because JR sucks. |

Not worth a 3rd overall pick (or any first round pick), but Bogosian, as a bottom-pair defenseman, isn't bad. But when you already have two of them playing in your top-4, then yeah. |

If the Penguins are foolish enough to move Kessel this off-season I can't wait for all the Kessel-detractors to cry about the fact JR needs to go out and get a pure sniper for Sid or Geno. |

I know this is super random, but... I hate when a trade happens and people around here are like "why didn't JR make that trade?!?!" I bring this up because I've kind of been keeping tabs on Chicago. Despite the fact they're losing they're a lot of fun to watch this year.
I look at the Strome/Schmaltz trade. For all his whining, Tanner was dead on about Strome. Dude is a stud and was totally being mishandled by AZ. I look at that trade and wonder if JR had inquired or if not, what would move could they have made for Strome. |

Given that they sent Schmaltz the other way, this would have been an awesome way to have utilized Conor Sheary in a trade. |

AZ got fleeced. They clearly undervalued Strome and didn't realize what they had in him. You can argue CHI made a nothing trade and it paid off, but yes, I agree. I think the Pens had they still had Sheary could have moved him, possibly even Simon + a high pick or at the most, Rust.
Hindsight is 20/20 so it's easy for me to pick this apart, but AZ did such a good job of driving his value down that he probably wasn't even on many GMs radar. |

Matta is unexpected. I thought he was done for at least the rest of the season. Great news |

Tanner is generally pretty good in his analysis of players. It is his politics and the forcing of using one metric that can make him annoying. |

He probably is. His injury is a shoulder issue. I'm sure at this point it's just working out to keep his stamina going and get his legs back. |

Holy (frank), did anyone see that WWE move the Calgary player pulled on the Wild player last night? Fricken crazy. Wasn't expecting to wake up to that. |

I don't think fleeced is fair. Schmaltz had 14 in 17 in AZ before getting hurt.
Strome is also riding an ice sh% of 14.4 That is not sustainable |

Not that I'm unhappy with Bjugstad as 3C, far from it, but the idea of having a young player like Strome who looks to be evolving into a 1C as the Pens 3C and future moving forward? That would have been a great move. Not blaming JR at all. Like I said, I think AZ did a great job of mishandling him and driving his value down. |
