I'm not sure what's going on with Hornqvist, but aside from the production he just doesn't look like himself.

If he makes that save, nobody is thinking he robbed somebody....so yeah, I think he needs to make it. Of course I recognize the slop play in front of him. In that situation, he needs to bail them out. JMO.

It would have to be Hornqvist. I don’t think G would excel in Phil’s slot being a left handed shot. I’d mentioned it before but I’d like to see if they could replicate Washington’s triangle on the other side of the ice to open up Geno for the one timer.

PP would look different either way. Jake has better hands but isn't the screen Hornqvist is.

But really my point wasn't that Jake should replace either, just that imagine what his point totals would be if the Pens traded one and he was on the top PP. That 6M would be a massive bargain as he's probably an 80-90 point guy if he's on the top PP.

Sid's line has played almost exclusively with Gudbranson and seems to be creating offense fine....

History says expect him to crash back hard, but so far so good for Gudbranson here. If we're going to bury him for getting beat wide once, happens to Maatta all the time and he still usually helps them win. If we get this level of play, he'll be overpaid but fine, I just don't expect it.

If JR and Schultz continue to work well with one another then that makes Maatta expendable this offseason. Even the Flordia trade is looking ok so far. McCann is playing motivated. I'm actually more worried about our 2nd and 3rd lines than our defense right now. Not sure how we'd fare in a series with a great offensive team though. Pens top line and pairing is dragging this team to playoff contention.
