Never having won the Cup has taken a toll in ol' St Lou.

Griffins v. IceHogs tonight... Delia gets the start again.

While we are talking about goalies, it will be interesting to see how the 3-headed monster in Rockford works itself out.

Question:
If they do win the Cup, will St. Louis fans throw less or more beers on me when I go there to see 'Hawks games?

- 35Tony0

If the blues win the cup ........... Good for " the Chief "! He's the perfect example that shows who the F the boss is. Loved him as a player and happy as hell that he is having success as a coach. I thought he got a raw deal in Philly. See what happened to Haxstoll already.
I'm willing to give this kid a chance here in Chicago but hopefully from the start he let some of these guys know who the F is running the show. And back to Craig Berube, he would've gotten rid of half of these soft as hell Blackhawk defenseman already by now.

Yeah ... a lot of Hawks fans cite the Danault trade as Stan's worst moment but for me it was trading Teuvo to move Bickell's contract.

Wouldn't Cat-Strome-Teuvo be a nice 2nd line.

TT wasn’t then what he is now.

And there was talk then that his attitude would never let him become what he is now.

yeah, hard not to get choked up there. hockey players remain the most humble group among all major league players.

though, a lot of them do a poop ton of great things for their communities that we don't hear about. across all sports

Agree that hockey players seem to be a pretty down-to-earth group.

And double agree that this goes on across all sports. Admire the guys who do it and whom we don’t hear about because it means something private to them.

Use to hang out on Friday evenings for a couple of years after work with co-workers at studebakers in Schaumburg. Walter Payton was the owner and he would pop in occasionally for a couple hours. He would sign autographs and chat with anyone that approached him. Very, very gracious man. Would sometimes bring another bear or two with him. They were always great.

I wonder if a reason for the humility by pro hockey players is the fact that many of them spend a lot of their youth away from home and live with billet families. Mixture of missing home, respecting another family's home, and being grateful for the opportunity to play given the circumstances and possibly even hardships.

The skill, vision and IQ were all in plain sight, he was only 21 and on an upward trajectory. It wasn't a slam dunk he would be a 60 to 70 point scorer in a few years but it was my opinion at the time the trade was mode that it was a major mistake and time has proven that to be true. That's not me patting myself on the back - it's pointing out that it was a bad trade when it was made and it looks even worse now.

we have a lot worse situations in terms of contract than Crow. next year the last of 6 million. he may retire. or may stay around as a cheaper 40 game guy and mentor a goalie or two on the way up. All of a sudden I feel it will be a strength in a few years. Over the years goalie maturity is so different. I'm big on several in the pipe

But also the lack of engagement, alligator arms, and reported unwillingness to put in the work required to put on strength, conditioning, and training over a couple of summers were also in sight. He reportedly pissed of Chicago brass at the time.

I did say “reported” - I have no idea how true that all was.

I said at the time - summer of 2016 when he was traded when he was 21 - that he would probably be good when he was 23 or 24 - when he grew up physically and emotionally - but that the Hawks (in “win now” mode at the time) couldn’t really wait for it. Add to that the need to do something to get below the cap.

I don’t blame Stan for making him the sugar in the “move Bickel” tea at the time.

Nice 5-4 OT win by Rockford last night. Peter Holland with the game winner.

The IceHogs are getting healthier and playing well. Would love to see Delia take them on another playoff run. That'd be neat!

More than that, I saw him relentlessly covering Tarasenko during some shifts. I never saw him do that while with Hawks. The Canes have great team chemistry right now, and could be a very tough matchup if they make the playoffs.

Thank you for taking that $4 million dollar goalie from us (although I do hope whatever his personal leave problems are he can solve). Evan Barrett looks like a solid prospect we got in return.

Yeah they're going to be a tough out for anybody if they get in there. The way they play is overwhelming at times.

The AHL team traded for another goalie so I'm guessing Darling never plays for them again.

Dunno what the future holds but he's so far away from being an NHL gialtender right now.
