Would've been nice to get that extra year of cheap usage. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20. I wasn't sure on it last offseason either...truth be told.

That 3rd year makes him a UFA though I thought?

Scored 42, 47 and 50 points in his first 3 seasons.

Bo Horvat scored 25, 40 and 52 points in his first 3 seasons.

Bo Horvat signed that deal. 6y 33m.

Horvat is a center. Better all around player, so perhaps you are right. Just saying, it wasn't all that out of bounds.

The favor Reinhart has done for himself this year is semi-prove he can make an impact on his own line. He needs to continue to do that to get “core player” money IMO

Godzilla: Aftershock is the name of the upcoming graphic novel that is a prequel to the King of the Monsters movie. The comic book gets released April 15 written by the writer of Skull Island The Birth of Kong, Arvid Nelson, with art by Drew Johnson.

Unless he drastically falls off, he's basically going to get paid.

The lines from practice this morning make me sick to my stomach.

We are either trying not to win or Phil really is that bad

4th year would have made him UFA. 3 gives the option of going to arb then hitting UFA.

Sabres’ practice:
Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart
Sheary-Rodrigues-Okposo
Wilson-Mittelstadt-Thompson
Girgensons-Larsson-Pominville

McCabe-Ristolainen
Dahlin-Bogosian
Hunwick-Montour
Nelson

No Sobotka or Scandella

I understand the thinking with getting Sheary and Wilson in there hoping that they up there game against the team that gave up on them (Hunwick too to a lesser extent), I just question the RW slotting. The thing is that it's practice on an off day, not a pregame skate. If things aren't working, should they wait til the summer to try something different? The plus here is no Sobotka or Scandella.

Well I'm also not too happy that the guy we moved a first round pick for is being saddled with Hunwick.

Also how many times this season have we seen very different lines in practice vs the pregame skate. How can we have any chemistry as a team when you arent practicing with your game time linemates

Hmm. Unsure, didn't think so, but could be wrong. Thought 4th year was UFA year.

That's completely fair.

He'd need to keep this pace up for the rest of the year and next as well.

I just see his 5v5 scoring going up again. He only has 15/57 pts (2 goals/18) from the PP vs 21/50 (12 goals/25) last year. Those numbers wouldn't help us at the negotiation table.

Just a reminder:

Skinner-Eichel-Pominville gets 60% of goals at even strength

Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart gets 60% of goals at even strength

Reinhart-mittelstadt gets 70% of goals at even strength

Mittelstadt without Reinhart gets 44% of goals at even strength

Quick notes on this

Reinhart is no better than Pominville on the top line

Reinhart is exponentially better than any other option for CM.

Do you have Luke Perry as a sleeper pick?

Also, what are the odds Romo makes the cut at the Byron Nelson?

this is false on so many levels

if anyone thinks that line plays just as well ALL AROUND with Pommer, pass me what they are smoking

from an offensive standpoint the 2 lines are better, but pommer does not make the top line all around as good as when the skunk is on it
