We definitely could have got a haul if Hank waived is NMC plus opened up a lot of cap. Have to respect his decision though, god knows he is one of the few who earned the right to decide his future.

There is a small group of twitter folks who loathe Hank. I do not agree, but since 2016 his numbers are pretty terrible. I give him a pass for all the years he helped us over achieve

Yea I don’t hold any ill will towards him. He’s just so competitive it kinda surprises me

I guess Ottawa wasn’t high on Beavillier
- Slimtj100

Unless they have some inside knowledge that Duchene is interested in re-signing there and they're likely to get that other first round pick, I can't figure out why in the world they wouldn't have taken the Isles deal. Those prospects aren't all that great, not bad either, and it's entirely possible that Beauvillier posts his second consecutive 20 goal season at age 21.

He single handily won playoff series’ for them. Some of those teams before the SCF were not very good, he masked a lot of issues. Those people are just dumb.

That game 7 in Pittsburgh, I forget what year (2013 or 14 I think), was epic. May be the best game I’ve ever seen a goalie play, they were down 3-1 in the series if I recall

Could you imagine what the league wide backlash would have been if the Rangers' brass didn't give him the contract...

That contract also came at a time when goalies got massive contracts, and he was the best of the group.

Not terrible, but not great which is expected due to age and how bad the defense has been

It was the SCF year. After that game, I truly thought we were destined to win the cup

What has gone on with Hank is why I always say, never put any one players interests over the organization no matter how much bad PR you'd get. I don't think anyone reasonably could have expected such a quick decline, but those last couple years are looking like a giant anchor.

Probably change it after the playoffs.
Bigger question, when does MDW have to change his dog's name?

Kreider is younger and more of a leader on the ice. I think Staal is more of a room guy. That happens, I'm joining TPC in...

You’re right. I didn’t think it was the SCF season. Problem with those teams was killer instinct. They always had teams against the ropes and let them back and always made the runs that much more difficult
