Anyone else think Colorado won this trade? |

....... the Duclair-Brown-Ryan line looked pretty good last night.... so there's that....
Soooo... does the forward group look like this now:
Tkachuk Tierney White
Duclair Brown Ryan
Smith Pageau Paajarvi
Balcers Batherson Boedker
*Lindberg?
At least we're the only team that can say we're icing two 3rd lines and two 4th lines. |

Oddly enough I don't blame Dorion for this - he tries his best with the marching orders he's given.
Stone's TSN interview reveals much of that. He mentioned that he's excited to go to a team where ownership is acting like it wants to win (or some similar thing). He goes on to say that he also had a lot of respect for the negotiation process that went on as the Sens were trying to get him to sign here.
This essentially tells me that Dorion tried his best, but both parties (Dorion and Stone) knew that Melnyk was the problem. Biiiiig surprise here. |

I am surprised that Cody Glass was not a focal point of this trade. |

You know I sit here and have been a Sens Fan from the start, Sure they could have gotten more for Stone, but with Erik Brannstrom he is a former 1st round pick who we are not waiting to develop for another 4 years, plus with Oscar Lindberg he is a 2nd rnd pick again who can grow with the sens Now rather then later. Dorian got more picks to build with and for guys who did not want to be here at the end of the year. It is a painful process to rebuild, but you have to take the good with the bad.
We had a couple good years, but we were missing something in the mix, but going forward we have a good core of young guys to build around going forward.
Last few days we got:
2020 2nd-Round Pick (DAL)
2019 1st-Round Pick
Conditional 2020 1st-Round Pick
2020 2nd-Round Pick
2021 2nd-Round Pick
F Vitaly Abramov
F Jonathan Davidsson
F Anthony Duclair
D Erik Brannstrom
F Oscar Lindberg
For
F Matt Duchene who I thought was over hyped
F Mark Stone who signed after he was traded for to much $$$
F Ryan Dzingel the only one who I will miss but it is growing pains,

damn, sens really messing up - PapaSquat
Maybe for now, but Brannstrom is a stud and will be at least as good as Chabot. If Ottawa doesn't find a way to screw things up with him then Brannstrom should make people forget they ever had Karlsson. |

Yup. But Stone on the second line with Stastny and Pacioretty will be just deadly. |
