Just get any picks for when you host the draft.

It just seems so stupid that they keep talking about getting more picks for when they host and all they have gotten is a 6th rounder.

So far.
Might acquire some picks at the draft.
What????
it could happen!

Goldy to his credit hasn’t complained publicly and we haven’t heard anything about him demanding a trade either. I just think the dude lacks defensive hockey sense, even when he tries he sometimes ends up covering the wrong player
- Nucker101

True. What I always get a kick out of, is when people make the stupid statement, that you can teach defense, you can't teach offense.
Goldobin is a perfect example of a forward not capable of understanding defensive play.

The scouting report done by some Sharks media in the fall had Karlsson at 58% odds of being an NHLer. Not great, not terrible odds
- NorthNuck

That’s extremely high for a 3rd round pick

Dahlen was never projected to be a gritty guy so I don't see how being soft is a knock but more of an expectation. He had his nights off for sure but he has a higher ceiling that hasn't been reached - i just don't like giving up on prospects - such a big part of development is patience. And if we're not adding picks, we have to be patient - we're doing neither.
- Brooks_Light

Well I’m no pro scout, but I got Shinkaruk/Jensen vibes watching him. Not play style but just not dynamic enough to overcome the softness factor. I will admit that the last 2 games I saw him play, he looked more shifty/dangerous.

Just my 2 cents, but I like the trade since Karlsson by all accounts has hockey sense, size and some tenacity.

There's the link again if you want to read yourself, I just skimmed it.

On Emmanuel Perry’s list of every forward currently under the age of 19 who was technically eligible for the 2018 draft, Linus Karlsson, the Sharks’ third-round pick, ranks tied for 35 in terms of potential upside (WAR/82 in the NHL). That list is 1,752 names long and features names like Andrei Svechnikov, Vitali Kravstov, Filip Zadina, and Martin Kaut at or near the top. Karlsson’s 58 percent chance of making the NHL according to that model places him in even more rarefied air: 14th among that same group of 1,700+ teenage forwards.

Great find, thanks!

I’m on board with this trade even if it does end up looking bad.

Benning said in his Presser today , Dahlens agent came up to him last week asking for a trade,

He also said he wants to fix the D this summer. He talked about Sautner and a few others. He still has high hopes for OJ and Quinn.

He said he asked Edler to waive but he wouldn't so they will continue to see if there is a deal there.

Damnit Edler

Did they ask if he shopped Guddy or any others for a pick?

yikes.
That will not go over well with some here (I think he's earned that right and won't begrudge him for refusing to waive his rights).

All within Edler's rights to refuse to waive. Would have been nice if he did though.

This is why you can not give him a NTC for the new one.

He was asked about Tanev and Edler always being injured he said Stecher and Hutton have stepped up nicely
