Brannstrom isn't peanuts man. He is going to be a damn good defenseman I think. Him and Chabot are going to be scary good

I don't know a ton about him but from what I've seen he projects as likely a 2nd pairing D with the potential to end up as a 1st pairing D. Adding the 2nd, decent return, maybe could have had slightly more

Stone will sign an eight-year deal with LVG, an AAV of $9.5 million.

Mark Stone looks like he signed an 8 year, 9.5mill AAV extension as well (can't be official until March 1st).

I don't think its peanuts, but I don't think it is enough either. I think Branstromm has a higher ceiling than 2nd pair, but we will see.

looks like for newly acquired Granlund.

Poile just flipped Fiala for Simmonds

EDIT - looks like Ryan Hartman and a pick to Philly for Simmonds

- Codes1087

Granlund would have been an overpayment

i agree. Hartman and a 4th is pretty good value for a declining Simmonds though.

It's a good idea to not acquire draft picks when you host the draft.

NJD get s 2nd and a 4th for Marcus Johansson.

NJD/NYR/DET did really well at selling

NSH/VGK/WIN did well as buyers

OTT did ok

I would think someones interpretation of that return is entirely based on what they think Hartman can become

Simmonds is having a pretty sub-par year, 30 years old,

Hartman is 24, pretty decent player, and a pick to boot.

I think Philly made out pretty well.

Hard to say who did well with buying until after the playoffs imo.
NYR as the clear winners.

Too bad Vancouver didn't get in on the arms race.
