Stone apparently signs an eight year 9.5 million per year deal. I can stroke him off my list as a future Horvat winger

Well I’m no pro scout, but I got Shinkaruk/Jensen vibes watching him. Not play style but just not dynamic enough to overcome the softness factor. I will admit that the last 2 games I saw him play, he looked more shifty/dangerous.

Just my 2 cents, but I like the trade since Karlsson by all accounts has hockey sense, size and some tenacity.

I get that vibe more from Jasek than Dahlen - but I mean if he wanted out then thats a whole different story - (frank) him and he can join Tryamkin in hell

This is why you can not give him a NTC for the new one.

He was asked about Tanev and Edler always being injured he said Stecher and Hutton have stepped up nicely

"Listen Alex, we'll sign you for 3 years, but we won't give you a NTC."
"Why not?"

100% agree

Another tweeer. The 3rd wheel on the Carter/Toffoli line but still useful enough to be a positive on the ice so I’ll take it. Could flip him next year

- Nucker101

Maybe. Seems like with the right linemates Pearson could score 20. See where it goes I guess.

I wonder if they'll try to sign Bobrovsky in the summer
- NorthNuck

Perhaps. McPhee is able to add because he did a great job wheeling and dealing to add draft picks. Bit of a unique situation with that franchise though.

Vegas has a nice top six if Stastny can stay healthy.

Preds with Granlund and Simmonds are gonna be a problem, they already had the defense and goalie but now they can score up front too

All within Edler's rights to refuse to waive. Would have been nice if he did though.
- Reubenkincade

That’s fine, but last year post TDL he said something like “I only want to be here if I’m wanted”.

Don’t say that poop if you’re not gonna waive lol

Burke saying on Sportsnet he doesn't think Nashville has enough of a killer mentality or toughness.

I would like to see the Canucks walk away from him this year.

Isn't that what Simmonds is supposed to help with?

A one or two year deal with a modified NTC would be fine.

Jets Preds could be the best series of the playoffs.

With the arms race in the west it makes me wonder if all these teams will beat the stuffing out of each other at every step leaving an easier matchup for Tampa should they make the final

i feel your pain my bro.

LOL I really don't care. Not a real loss. Vintsy got his hockey trade finally though.

Gudbransen never improved since the day he got here. I wanted the playoff Guddy from the Panthers not the one we got.

Listening to Jim today he sounded like he could go either way with Edler. There is no need to give him a NTC . I would be perfectly fine and go a different direction if he does not want to do what the team wants.

A 15 team NTC still allows you trade him to half the league whether he likes it or not. Plus he'll be a great partner for Erik Karlsson

There's always context that we are not privy to though, for example Benning saying Edler wouldn't waive could mean he offered Edler an option to be traded to Pittsburgh and he said no or it could mean Edler said no to any trade or every trade offered etc.

At the end of the day, GM's need to learn to not give out NTC's if they want the option of moving the player.
