Panarin might be not available if Blue jackets season is a success

I understand why people aren't overwhelmed by this deal. One we have to see how Hartman fits and if he has anymore upside. At this point all we know is that the Flyers added a depth player. We don't know about what will happen with the pick. One domino still left to fall is what do the Flyers do with the cap space gained? That's part of this scenario also.

Whatever we got a 3/4th line player for an aged worn out unsigned 3/4 th line player and a bs pick, still better then nothing

I really don’t know what Simmonds is expecting for a contract next season but I’m thinking he and his agent think there getting some huge deal, anyone that gives more then 4mil x 3 years is on crack he is toast

He should have been dealt last year

I think they're going to go after a big splash this off-season. Not sure if it will come via UFA or via trade but I think they're in a position to do something substantial.

Apparently the Pens fans don't like their trades today and one said this

If Hartman can pk effectively for us...he’ll become a more useful on ice player for us than Simmonds. With jvr taking over the net front on the pp it drastically reduced Simmonds effectiveness on the unit.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Simmonds puts up good numbers with Nashville. I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to use him on the doorstep on their pp units that are probably functioning better than ours.

I don’t know what the flyers will do with the cap space. I’m pretty damn nervous about it though

A 20 goal winger is a more useful player than a PK role player.

Here is the UFA list for RW for next season. Point out which players that are similar to Hartman that you can get for the same cost?

https://www.capfriendly.c.../caphit/all/rightwing/ufa

If you drafted a player like Hartman with a 2nd round pick you made a solid pick.

- MJL

1) HArtman is a UFA as well so if he doesnt sign and NSH loses in the 1st round all we get is a 4th in 2020. NOT EVEN A PICK THIS YEAR!

2) Players better or equal to Hartman

Eberle
Stone
Zuccerello
Pavelski
Pominville
Williams
Nyqvist
Silfverberg
Donskoi
B.Connolly
Brandon Pirri
Tanev

Hell someone in our system already could probably match him

Same thoughts here, hopefully a massive trade with lots of pieces coming and going,

Actually Nashville has the worst PP in the league. Probably a reason they targeted simmonds

Although a 19 goal scorer who is better at even strength and can play the PK and younger...will take that guy.

Okay so as usual you have a lot wrong

He's an RFA

None of those players were available in a trade for Simmonds so why even bring them up

To be fair calling him a 19 goal guy is a bit of a stretch BUT he will be a better ROI in my opinion. If not next year then the next.

Incorrect on a couple of counts. Hartman will be an RFA not a UFA. He's 24 years old.

The question I asked is not if there will be a better player available but a better player at the same cost as what Hartman will cost cap wise.

Earlier in the year against Vegas. Doesn't mean he will become a superstar, but he is a better skater, will fight and does have the toolset to score.
