I still take Jack. Jack can continue to develop a two way game. Point will never be able to do what Jack can do with the puck on his stick.
- Pegullaville

For now, I’ve got Point slightly ahead
But also...
i wasn’t talking about having Jack or Point
Was saying we have BOTH
Now that’s a heck of a 1 - 2 punch down the middle imo
And bc Point can take on tough defensive minutes,
it allows you to build the type of line3 and line4 that you’d prefer

Super unlikely though
Was just kinda throwing it out there as a Dream scenario
I’m a big fan of Point
That kid can freaking play hockey

Almost all of those things can be said of Bogosian (he doesn't get the gift points that Risto gets playing on the pp). The numbers across the board say that he is an average player and getting worse. I've seen plenty of big, fast guys with an A that weren't very good. We can (and should) hope for better.
- Slump Buster

Um bogo?

Sure.

Great contract
Top in ice time
Points aren't gifted
13 out of 37 points on the pp. All gifts.
Never made a good play to help score
Throw those out, they dont count right?

Should have also added durable to risto accomplishments.

Just like bogo right?

Just my opinion, but 🤮
- Powerslave

Ya that’s just terrible, I’d think Ristolainen on his own would get that.

The talk on Risto is everywhere, holy crap.
- Powerslave

Crap is the right word. All of it, a bunch of morons like us - talking crap about a Risto trade that's not gonna happen.

Points are absolutely gifted. There is a reason that they took him off of pp1 before 37 got hurt - he isn't good offensively. For a guy who is average in key stats like WAR and 5 v 5 that contract isn't good. He is in fact an absolute minute-eating horse but you're not going to win a cup with a guy like that playing those minutes.

I don't know why you disregard the metrics.

Andy Strickland
@andystrickland
Speculation of Rasmus Ristolainen to Tampa Bay won’t seem to go away. #Sabres #gobolts

That’s it and he’s about as dependable as incarcerated bob. Everyone else has grabbed on to that rumor from Strickland and spread it like Ek just did.

I totally disagree with calling WAR or GAR a key stat.

So your staying risto on his own is worth

Foote (14th overall pick in 2017)
Gourde 101 nhl points in the last 1 3/4 seasons
A 1st round pick
And callahan

That is retarded

To be fair, that's also $10M in salary coming back for next year, and Gourde's new 6 year deal is not small.

Yes that’s what I’m saying, gourde is 28 and is signed for I think 5 or 6 years at 5 ish million calls is done I don’t see the value for our top rhd and our top winger. Also the word restarted is a disgusting word.

"He isnt good offensively "

Risto is tied for 16th in nhl scoring by defenseman

But your worried about me disregarding metrics.

Agree to completely %100 disagree

Top 15 in scoring - no gift points , no pp time right?

Pick any stat that you'd like - his numbers aren't good. I was an apologist for him for a long time. Don't get me wrong - I am not saying that he is a bum. On another team he would probably have better numbers as a 3-4 guy playing 20 minutes a night (and that's where the contract becomes an issue). He has value - if we can make a hockey trade for him I am good with it.

He was pointless in 6 straight games since being removed from PP1 until yesterday

Guess where his point came from yesterday?

Sure:

So cbus has nothing to trade?

How about Anderson?

No way ,it has to be Anderson +++

How about a different roster player? Or dubois?

No they aren't trading Dubois

Great back and forth

- Boss34

Well they aren’t moving Dubois(because why would they honestly)and Anderson is a very meh starting point for Risto.

They have very little to nothing in pick capital and not much else in the pipeline.

Again Columbus isn’t an ideal trade partner.

I apologize for my ignorance

Tampa signed gourde to that contract recently.
A team known for good contract control.

101 points over the past year a 3/4.

We could use that

Scroll over a few columns and check out his plus / minus compared to the others and get back to me (spoiler alert - it's really, really bad and the others in this area are really, really good).

I know, I know - plus/minus isn't a key stat anymore. It's just a coincidence that all of the stats say that he is average or worse. The same stats that tell us Dahlin (and to a lesser degree, Pilut) are good.

So you take all of ristos pp totals away

Then he's tied for 44 th with ekblad (but including all of his points)

Again, risto would be a great fit for columbus.

They have resources. Why would we really want another high pick instead of rostered talent?

You don’t have to take them away.

He’s top 5 in NHL minutes and he’s supposed to be really good offensively.

He just isn’t

No big deal, I just wonder if that’s due to his team situation and not necessarily his skill, I agree if we could do that with us, we could definitely use that.
I’d rather do a Ristolainen for Huberdeau swap if he’s being moved, like the jones for johanson deal

Sure. His expectations are higher, so his points don't count.

Your too much

16th in points, nhl defenseman scoring.
I'm not making this up.

"He just isn't"

McDavid sucks - because - he just does
