Gudas isn't that bad, aside from 2 brain cramps (should have gotten 20+ for the Perrault chop). Now, Flyers like Steve Downie, Billy Tibbetts, Ulf Samuelsson, and Zac Rinaldo were scum on ice. - jmatchett383
Baiting us with former pens... tsk tsk. Let’s talk about the goon squad that got ya a couple cups before I was born |

How so? I mean, taking his rape and assault charges out of the hockey equation, dude was a useless goon. |

It feels like JR is going to trade the 1st for McQuaid and a 2nd. This team is getting outcompeted in the management department. |

You guys had Zac Rinaldo? Damn.
And yes, the 70s and 80s Flyers definitely had straight up goons...just like every other team in the 70s and 80s. Flyers just had more. |

Not my job to police threads...
As far as Penguins fans on Flyers blogs, don’t understand that myself but whatever. In general as I’ve said on a few occasions JMachett tends to add to discussions when he’s on here, you...not so much you tend to drop the IQ avg a few points. - iworkatinitech

The pens once employed Ulf, then there is Matt Cooke and the guy that head hunted Couturier in the playoffs that was 100% intentional.
Malkin is no saint albeit highly skilled.

First off I wasn’t in doubt, I was explaining that you were misrepresenting a fact that you apparently didn’t understand.
Secondly I’m not your bud, nor am I a homie. Thanks again - iworkatinitech

I know this is sarcasm, but if he trades the 1st I pray it's for something beyond this season. We don't have any seconds until 21 however. |

Malkin is better than any Flyer by about a country mile. Giroux is not even close to Malkin at anything hockey. Like both teams lots but G is not one of my favourites at all. But who cares! |

I think that’s actually a decent debate. I would obviously say Malkin but you can make the conversation for giroux’ overall body of work to be in the same universe. His top shelf stuff is no where near Malkins, but giroux has had a remarkably consistent career. |

i don't expect any discipline b/c of the POC, but he definitely left one of his feet. the other is unclear.

No question the back (left) skate comes off the ice, as for the front (right) skate absolutely 110% on the ice as you can track it when it turns. For a player to leave their feet to propel into a hit means the front leg, which provides the push for more power, needs to be off the ice. The back leg in the air means falling or leaning, no additional force can be applied if only the back leg is up.

As players at their best, no. I agree. But Malkin missed a lot of time in his career. Giroux has largely been very lucky with health |

Comparing the two is interesting. One could argue that Giroux had less talent to work with around him, but on the only side Malkin seemed to play his best hockey when Crosby was out of the lineup. Pure skill Malkin is more talented, but I believe Giroux has been the better overall player in all facets of the game. |

Except for 2 years when he had down years due to surgery and playing through injury. |

I get what you’re saying, but bottom line is he didn’t miss large chunks of games, which definitely took a bite out of malkins career counting totals |

Which is still 250 more points in only 40 more games, it’s not even close |

Honestly I would say Malkin would be the unanimous winner as well, but the topic was based off debate, not i am right so discussion over. |
