Matthew DeFranks of the "Dallas Morning News" said a short time ago, "it's not known yet if Zucc will need surgery," and that he will be re-evaluated tomorrow in Dallas, for what Zucc himself feels is a broken arm, as was disclosed first on the "NHL Live" pre game show on NBCSN through sources.

Those Hoffman trade rumors are out there due to the Panthers having asked Hoffman a few days ago for his list of 10 teams he would not be willing to approve a trade to. EK likely believes that the Preds and the Rangers are among two teams in contrary, in mentioning specifically the Rangers for some strange reason as a possible destination while in a rebuild, and still trying to trade Hayes.

Bruce Garrioch of "The Ottawa Sun" believes the favorite to land Stone among the two top teams who are targeting him is Winnipeg, as opposed to Calgary.

Gorton must be still waiting until Ottawa first, either re-signs or trades Stone, prior to trading Hayes, to insure the value of Hayes is its best, or at least its true minimum value to the runner up, or some other team. It may also be that despite the issue of years term with him, as it was with Zucc, as per why both parties were not able to agree on a new contract, that maybe Gorton feels Hayes and the Rangers will eventually be able to do so again at some point after the deadline, prior to him officially testing free agency.
