Honestly I love Zuke, but I'knew it was going to happen, but I wanted someone who could possibly play next year over the 3rd. Maybe my expectations were too high, but thats what I was looking for

I like the gamble on the two firsts, I like the rolling of the dice, it was creative

I think there is a decent chance Zuccarello signs there

they will instantly love him in the locker room, the fans will instantly love him and no state income tax

- jimbro83

I guess it's possible, but he seemed pretty despondent to leave NY. Refusing to talk to the media about it and being openly upset at the thought of it. I don't know how much interest the Rangers have moving forward, but it sure seems to me like he'd strongly consider signing back with the Rangers in July. Despite the purge they are going to need some sort of veteran presence on the team.

I think it depends on your perspective. Would you rather have a guy who you know will probably be a third liner in his career or a possible lottery pick, where even if it doesn’t become a 1st, you could find the next Duke or Buch. I’m on team lottery ticket as well

I'm ok with the playoff gamble. I think they have more of a chance than most on here. I would be absolutely shocked if he re-signed, but strangers things have happened

if he came down from insisting on 5 years he could very well come back

he needs to perform as well with Dallas as he has with the Rangers the last 6 weeks to get someone to give him 5 years

signing a small player like him until he is 37 years old, that's a tough sell for anyone

I’m definitely fine if Zucc returns, but this whole veteran presence thing is overrated. Kreider is a vet, Zib I’m sure is growing into a leadership role. I don’t know how much of a leader Staal is, but he’s here as well. We have plenty veteran presence.

people shouldn't dismiss that the Rangers have young Russians coming and Kreider actually speaks Russian.

I know what you are saying, but I'm not sure you could peg any prospect, better/worse where they might end up. Its a gamble either way

I like the gamble, they acquired a bunch of prospects last year in their trades

this trade is kinky and I like it kinky

Good morning boys...I spent last night defending my view on Twitter. If true that this was the best option, then he obviously had to take the deal. Gorton opted for two lottery picks over a more sure return. I would have been more fine with that approach if a prospect came along. Hoping one of the conditions play out. Now on to Hayes and McQuaid in the next 29 hours...
