I'm not a big Jack Johnson fan - for obvious reasons - but if they win this game he might earn his contract for the year tonight.
He is tough

Patrick has more in the cup holder of his car than Johnson’s net worth. |

AND good puck support AND a controlled entry into the zone.
The reason why I don’t like him in the top 6 is because of how vanilla he can play sometimes. I think that’s a product of coaching, just my personal opinion. If you want players to chip and chase less, tell them - WSCTeton17
Penguins need some vanilla in their game. Shots, screens and rebounds. |

Now that the Pens have the lead, the Flyers will actually need to play hockey instead of taking kamikaze runs at everyone. |

Georges Laraque was pretty damn tough for the Penguins... but he wasn't worth any contract like this.
Tough is not equal to talent or worth this contract or term. |

You know, these full unis aren’t that bad. Just the sweaters by themselves were atrocious. |

Johnson didn't change his path or stick out his leg
Patrick tried to dodge the hit and left his knee hanging - RoloTahmasee

I mean, if Johnson swinging his right leg to the outside and leaning to the right isn’t going out of his way, sure. Not what I saw on the slow mo |

As much as I hate the Flyers, I’m having a hard time finding any hate in my heart for Gritty. I’m pretty sure I just saw a clip of him streaking and being chased by security. |

Your missing the point...
He's getting killed out there and still making plays...and still in the game |

Christ if I get another stupid weather update.. We get it, it’s wet and windy. Now sit down and shut the hell up. Ya creepy little nome. |

i'd rather the pens go to a zoo, get the nearest penguin, put some skates and a jersey on him, have jacques martin pat him on the back, and send him out. |

Those definitely have a place in hockey. I never liked going to the net but I loved playing with guys who did. That’s not the problem with 72, it’s when he’s constantly soft dumping pucks off the boards and it results in a turnover like 95% of the time. On the Schultz goal it was a controlled entry, a somewhat rare part of his game
I still really don’t like our breakout. It’s too predictable and we’re getting hemmed in. I’d like to see the odd flip which keeps the oppositions D and high guy honest which in turn creates more room down low. Everyone does it, just seems like a rare part of our game these days |

1. Johnson isn’t skilled enough to have his leg and body performing different activities
2. The Flyers were gifted a power play for a clean hit
3. Patrick was allowed a 45 stride “payback” hit on Johnson without a call, in retaliation to a play he wasn’t even injured on |

Just got in from Mardi Gras parade... Is the Pens D still down to 4? Also, I vaguely remember Matt Cullen once played D in an NHL game a few years back... I would assume he's the emergency D... |

JJ sometimes gets put in a bad spot by others and then he takes the hit to make the play.. but he also puts himself and his teammates in bad spots constantly. So he’s absolutely overpaid |

I am well aware of Jack Johnson's abilities...and the lack thereof
Just trying to give the guy some credit but this message board is notorious for blaming the worst players for all the teams problems
Johnson is not worth his contract...that is certain
Tonight he is earning some respect...at least in my eyes

Johnson has been pretty good tonight. Any chance that the rain is the source of his powers? Who do we see about setting up more games in the rain? |
