Trade for Faulk already for (frank)s sake
- BINGO!

Oh Faulk off...

EDIT: Sadly, he would still be our best RHD. And not by a little bit either...

Despite you being a jerk I HAVE to say that Ghallgher kid is fantastic. There arent many guys on the Leafs I wouldnt trade for him.
- Aaron_85

He really is awesome.

Great contract too.

Williams demanded he be traded after Brett hit him in the face with that shot last night.

"Thank God it was Pesce. If it was anyone else I probably would have broken my jaw." -Actual quote from Williams.

- BINGO!

Lol..

As long as he can do stretch passes nothing else matters in the eyes of Babs.

If the Leafs could land Montour or Pesce I would be very impressed. I could see McQuaid being a good addition if you cant get a good deal for the first two. McQuaid kind of reminds me of what LA had in Matt Greene.

Honestly as long as you have somebody steady next to him he's serviceable at worst.

Yeah, probably.

I mean, he should be.

- BINGO!

Fire a vet coach with 4 yrs and 24 mil left on a contract, 1 cup and 2 olympic gold medals and replace him with a rookie coach - think Dubas got the stones to do that

McQuaid is the kinda guy Babs would play 25 mins a night.

I'm relying on Dubas here to not give him any toys like that.

Pesce would be ideal. Montour and Faulk would be about the same in ability, with Montour younger and Faulk (presumably) a bit cheaper.

He has things that he does well. There are very few of our young-mid career guys who have not come on in leap and bounds (Rielly, Kadri in particular stand out), so clearly he's good at the one-on-one stuff.

That said, his player usage is suspect, and the way that he keeps one guy in the pressbox exclusively is pretty poopty, because then when you do get an injury your replacement hasn't seen action for like three (frank)ing months...

McQuaid isn't really brought in for skill. But the character is a good thing. Greene meant so much to LA and I imagine that McQuaid could bring something similar. But obviously getting more skilled guys would be great. I obviously find McQuaid as a last ditch effort if the Leafs cant land the others for the price they want.

Joel Quenneville.

Peter Laviolette.

Barry Trotz.

Claude Julien (Yes, seriously).

I would not.

Rod's a hell of a motivator and a leader through and through, but his player usage is at least as questionable as Babcock's.

While I was just goofing around about Babcock, but.... if you're asking.

I think (from the top of my head) a great coach should be evaluated with the following:

- How well are the players under him are performing vs general expectations.
- How well are the younger players are improving under him.
- How well is the team performing vs expectations.
- His leadership abilities for bringing a group of individuals together with a common goal.

Agree on Trotz and Q though.

You put the emphasis on Julien, but from all these guys, Laviolette is the one I'd question the most.

Leafs are not a contender this year, and it makes no sense to give up futures for a failed run. Just like last year, when the Leafs should have traded assets like Leo, JVR, and Bozak. Patience.

I wouldn't.

He got the Flyers to the cup finals with Micheal (frank)ing Leighton in net.

That Nashville team is only any good because of the way they play and their structure. Their depth players aren't very good.
