I wish Duchene put up a hatty tonight but I'll take a 3 - 0 win and watch Colorado inch closer to a 1st overall |

It's a miracle. Laine just scored.
He should have got a penalty before it, though. |

Leafs are not a contender this year, and it makes no sense to give up futures for a failed run. Just like last year, when the Leafs should have traded assets like Leo, JVR, and Bozak. Patience. - Bullot

2 man advantage for Winterpeg. Prime opportunity for Laine to get another chance at getting another goal. |

How are the Leafs not a contender? The top seed has won 35% of the time in the current format. They don't just hand the Cup to the top seed. |

Yeah they absolutely are; just need to get in the dance and get hot at the right time.
Also, I don't see how trading one of the best bang for your buck contracts (Kadri) helps alleviate cap concerns. This thread hurts my brain sometimes. |

They are deep down the middle, have multiple gamebreakers, a Norris candidate dman and a top goaltender. I get that it's hard to believe for Leaf fans but they are contenders. |

Leafs will 100% not win the Cup this year, so in my eyes they are not a contender.
There is a 100% probability they won't be Stanley Cup champs this year |

Playoff teams don't trade their UFAs and give up. Notice no one does that?
What a horrible message to send to your young core. |

They no doubt have the talent to win.
There are so many teams that can win it all. |

Of course. After Tampa, this is the 2nd most talented team in the NHL. Look at the other "Contenders" like Nashville and Winnipeg how flawed they are.
Matchups against the Leafs will be very tough with those 3 centres. |

Walshy, I can see why you would would have doubts, realistically, they will be a longshot to win. But your math is off, math is not related to any opinion.

Something I'm eager to watch more of (if we have the opportunity), is Nylander playing center. Boy he's looked good the last few games, but he's also looked good on the wing too: he's been their best player for a while now.
If Nylander's a fit at 3C, does that make Kadri and his great contract expendable, or does this just reveal some center depth we didn't think we necessarily had?
I for one thought they would have had Lindholm or even Marleau centering the 3rd line with reduced minutes when Kadri was hurt. |

The Dallas Stars have acquired defenseman Ben Lovejoy from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenseman Connor Carrick and a third-round selection in the 2019 NHL Draft. |

Sine Kadri will be 29 next year, I would move him.
Marleau looks so bad as a winger this year, I would not move him to C again. |

Lindholm is pure shyte, excellent player for a rebuilding team with no hopes or aspirations to go anywhere. Skates around nice, never scores, never dangerous, just exists.
