All the Benning supporters ( NOT) should love that. I would take that ownership then still believes in Jim and he will be around for a while. - VANTEL
I think Aquilini believes in him, the past two drafts have been good, some poor free agent signings but the team made progress this year. |

I feel like you could be Andrew Walker in real life. Except that you say you’re from Vancouver, which he’s not. And you’re probably taller. - 1970vintage

I have no idea how these plumbers get moved every year. There is a lot of bad GM's still in the league. |

Gillis "sucking" is hyperbole, just as much as people who think Benning is an actual moron/idiot. Both ridiculous statements made by people who feel the need to shout louder than the guys on the other side of the fence.
Gillis started off solid, but then was caught clinging onto a "stale team" as Torts put it
Benning isn't well spoken and it could easily be argued that he's in over his head as a President/GM of a team, but that doesn't mean he's an idiot. - Nucker101
Not a Gillis lover, per se, but if you listened to him on the radio a few months back, and read (listened) between the lines, it sounded like Gillis wanted to tear it down in 2012 and start again. I think he knew the team was trending down and wanted to fix it but owners are the worst kind of fans. |

Aside from the gimmicky nature of the "stadium series", the battle of Pennsylvania is generally good hockey. |

I'm not saying one GM is better or smarter or anything. Gillis had his warts. His scouting staff was brutal, but I believe he recognized the shift and wanted make significant changes. |

Agree. Sight lines are terrible in stadium, camera angles almost as bad, ice is almost always bad. Just love Philly v Pitts though, they really get up for these games, especially, especially down the stretch. |

Send this to Sat & John...
I would like Edler back on one year terms. Would be happy to pay him $7m for one year, with a NMC. Re-evaluate next off season. I would also walk away on anything longer than one year (even if I was going to sign him for another 1 year term next season). They walked away from Hamhuis (maybe they shouldn't have), they should do the same with Edler.
I would trade Tanev, Goody, Poo, Biega for anything I could get this deadline. Anything, an 11th round pick, an expiring contract, 5 more Brendan Gaunces, whatever. |

Edlers numbers are always inflated because of the PP. I think he is a good Dman defensively and that is where it ends for me. I am 100% against any NTC . The gap is not that big between him and the younger Hutton.
I would not go higher than 2 years or higher than 5 mil. If I was Benning I would be pushing hard for him to waive and collect assets |

I think Hutton is a paper dragon who actually sucks balls on the regular.
He has been pumped, now is the time to dump him. If you sign him to term he'll hit up the hot dog stand and balloon like wellwood.
Tell Edler we'll resign him if he waives, otherwise, sianara bisnatch. Trade Hutton at the draft. |
