Edlers numbers are always inflated because of the PP. I think he is a good Dman defensively and that is where it ends for me. I am 100% against any NTC . The gap is not that big between him and the younger Hutton.

We have 2 top4 defencemen and bo free agents seem to want to sign here outside has beens. I don’t think we have that much leverage. D is our weakest position.
I would like Edler back on one year terms. Would be happy to pay him $7m for one year, with a NMC. Re-evaluate next off season. I would also walk away on anything longer than one year (even if I was going to sign him for another 1 year term next season). They walked away from Hamhuis (maybe they shouldn't have), they should do the same with Edler.
I would trade Tanev, Goody, Poo, Biega for anything I could get this deadline. Anything, an 11th round pick, an expiring contract, 5 more Brendan Gaunces, whatever. - 1970vintage
