He could very well be. I like the player, tough to gauge how good he really is becuase he’s playing in the BCHL. He has a higher bust factor then let’s say a Zegras, Krebs, or Boldy with a top 7 pick.

I’ve seen guys in the 3-9 range be pretty interchangeable depending on the scout.

Kaliyev is the Russian Skinner imo. Scouts question his top end speed and his compete level but there is no denying his goal scoring ability.

I see the comparison to Skinner. He kinds reminds me of Pavel Bure. He has enough speed imo and is elusive and love that shoot first mentality. His shot is lethal and he's a pure sniper in my view. We are weak on the wing and he would eventually slot in nicely. I could see in future years Olofsson on the LW and Kaliyev on the RW.

If we then traded the St. Louis and SJ picks for help now (next year) I say that is a successful draft.
