So Scheifele, Ehlers, Connor, Morrissey, Hellebuyck all developed "despite" Maurice?
- Pastor_Matt

Scheifele: established before Maurice
Ehlers: spent half a season with Thorburn; promoted due to injury
Connor: spent 20~ games with Thorburn, bounced between leagues; promoted due to injury
Morrissey: fair enough. If anything, he’s just underused
Hellebuyck: thrown to the wolves, had multiple votes of no confidence thrown at him by the organization (Pavelec promotion, Maurice’s comments, Mason signing); worked with private coach to carve out his spot

If there’s one thing I need emphasized here, it’s Morrissey’s ability to break out next to Byfuglien after a somewhat disappointing year with the Moose. Niku was way better at the same age, so why is he never given the Morrissey chance?

Ehlers back - should be a big help in gaining the zone. Like someone said before, not the total answer, but should be a huge help.

lol B prospects, shows how much the author knows little to nothing, Abramov is, depending on lists between 1 and 3rd best prospect in CBJ and Davidsson between 3 and 6th best and Abramov is in the top 50 prospects overall.

and GL keeping Stone if one of Ehlers, Laine or Connor is not in the deal forr Stone even with either trouba or Myers gone in the off season Jets cannot afford to keep Stone, Connor, Ehlers and Laine also with other to sign.

You are crazy. The package that makes the most sense is Roslovic, Perrault and a 2019 1st.

Who cares where they rank on a team with poor prospects? I wish we could have traded with you when Atlanta came to Winnipeg and Ivan Teleguin was our number one prospect, you would have sold us the farm.

What about Vesalainen, Perrault, a 2019 1st and another prospect? Comrie? Can only protect one goalie in expansion draft.

Sure would be nice to hang on to Roslovic to play 2nd line centre next season.

Connor and Ehlers are a "no go"

There is no Perreault trade that makes sense. He’s a value contract, and can play all 3 positions on all 4 lines effectively. He also makes everyone better.

Connor makes the most sense due to being in line for a raise he won’t play up to for some time, and being the guy likely losing his spot to Stone

No to Ves or Perreault.
It should 100% be Roslovic. He can’t play C at this level.

My thoughts on tonight and since some on here can’t seem to watch a game honestly and only criticize guys they don’t like and praise those they do it probably won’t be popular for everyone.

-Laine was by far the best player on the top line, and I’m talking 5on5. 55 was once again bad!! He was slow, lost every battle, most faceoffs, couldn’t make or receive a pass ( and trust me, I love 55 but call what I see) Wheels wasn’t much better.
-2nd and third line were good, very good.
-I’ve always thought Roslovic would be our future 2nd line Center. I’m less confident about this now. I like Roslovic but he should stay in the wing!!
- Perreault has lost a step from previous years
-Niku was our best D tonight, yes, that’s right, our best D!!!
-Chairot and Kulikov are garbadge
- morrisey has not looked good lately, I suspect he’s nursing a few injuries.
- I’ve actually liked our goaltending lately even through these losses but Helle let in two bad ones tonight.

That is all, goodnight folks, let’s hope tomorrow we throw stones!!!

I was going to congratulate Maurice on finally giving Laine a chance on the top line and then I checked the ice time for the rest of the forwards and this showed up

1. Sheifele
2. Wheeler
3. Laine
4. TANEV !!!!!

At least the Jets won.

I agree with most of this. Laine was as good as 55&26. He competed tonight at an nhl level. I believe having ehlers and countrymen niku changed his mindset, hockey was more fun for him tonight.

It was niku’s best game for the jets by far, but the best d tonight was Myers. Not always pretty but his compete level was outstanding. 2nd efforts, blocked shots, focused. He made good on a night when he was fighting the puck a little. Trouba was also good.
The play of TLC eclipsed the play of line when Perrault was there. Speaking of Perrault someone promised us a first shift goal if he was paired with Appleton. He was on the ice however it was a Vegas goal on one of his first shifts.

I’m honestly surprised more Jets fans are not questioning if both Morrisey and Shiefele are hurt right now as there play has significantly dipped from what we are used to.

This is not me hating or picking on them, it’s concern and truth.

55 certainly is having troubles winning faceoffs.

I would say Josh hasn't recovered from his last injury and Sheif is simply burnt out.

You might be onto something there. Burntout might be stretching but definatley Scheif and Wheels are pooped out and the team has got a lot of mileage from these two while key players like Ehlers, Buff are out.

Instant energy injection with Ehlers back. His speed changes the games dynamic immediately and others feed off this giving the team a much needed boost.

Special thanks to P Laine for showing up and "competing". The two goals are obviously a big boost but his compete level was where it should be, so that is a very big boost to the team.

Little and Lowry are awesome in the circle, Kulikov should take a seat and insert Poolman.

I certainly hope Niku is not traded because he is (I think) a young Enstrom-ish / Morrisey-ish hybrid that just needs icetime. He is definatley a diamond in the rough just waiting to blossom with more time on ice. If I have to choose between Rosie and Niku, it is a very hard decision but I am keeping Niku.

I just loved Tanev bowling the Vegas player over at the Vegas blueline that led to Lowry's goal. I must admit, plays like that get me excitied.

Helle - well........, playing better, with the odd softy, save percentage up and down like a well used toilet seat from game to game, but, I like his game and compete level.

Bang on Ross! The only thing I would add is that the line-up changes Mo made were once again FORCED due to the return of Ehlers.

Fatigue is catching up to both players. This is why Maurice's bench management continues to astonish me.
