Nick Jensen resigns for 2.5 x 4 years with Washington for the cost of Bowey and a 2nd. Would you guys have given up Bear and a 2nd for Jensen if he signed for 3 x 4?

If we could find a taker for Russell then sure....otherwise I would be fine with having Benning as the bottom pair RD and it costs less

The point of Jensen is to have him continue playing the role of 2RD as he has been doing well with Detroit. Maybe it wouldn't have worked out, but I think he'd have been a substantial improvement on Russell. A Russell and/or Sekera trade/buyout would've been a requirement for this to occur, of course.

Ok so if Russell being gone is part of the equation then yes I do that trade and contract for Jensen...not only is it an upgrade but a cheaper one too

It's a head shot, so it's hard to argue. That's the big issue in the NHL today so they're bound to approach this more harshly but it still doesn't excuse the kinds of predatory actions other stars have gotten away with. Crosby's vicious slash on Methot two years ago comes to mind.

Karlsson, Malkin, Gio and now McDavid have been suspended this year so stars to a degree have been held accountable.....also it was a headshot...ok I honestly thought he would get 1 game and not 2......Crosby didn’t get suspended for that slash or did he?
