Gardiner

Willie was great fans where in awe with his glorious display of how to hockey. The scoring thing is way overrated especially when thats not what he's being paid to do..Apparently ..

and his hair was beautiful..

- Fruitcakenipple

He's trending up....0 points in the last 3.

Doesnt matter.
But its down.

Based on lip of steps.
They would be HUGE tripping hazards if it were going up.

- Fakepartofme

If you were going down, you wouldn't be able to see the floor at the top though?

All streams sucked so couldn't watch the game.

What were the three major takeaways?

- TheMuzzel

Wsh scores on the powerplay
Leafs let in a short handed goal
Wilson was probably 1st star last night

I didnt make the stairs...but i've seen stairs with nosing that has a llittle rise on them.....pretty tough to see the floor at the top of the stairs.

I don't think so, but it could be...those would be pretty steep steps if that's the ceiling....but I just don't care anymore.

Bring on some new trivia.

Agreed.
You are not getting any depth, so background objects are probably just compressed. So it could be the ceiling youre seeing, but you just dont have any indicators to suggest depth. Add to that the graininess of the pic, it could simple look like the floor.
What gives it away for me, is the shadow below the lip of the steps on the left side. It suggest light coming from the back not front.

Its the ceilling, its just the perspective and graininess purposely dont give you depth.

Marner hasn’t been as good as he was since the Matthews contract.

He hasn’t been that bad but he seems to be making a couple bad mistakes per game. Could be the long season and a bit of a slump or he is a bit distracted at the moment.

- bryant

I don't know if it's specifically the Matthews contract, but Marner has been trending downwards a little. To me, Marner's game is about High Danger chances, and generating those High Danger Scoring Chances in general. It's less of a Corsi-adapted possession game.

Here's his month-over-month (this table will probably look like poop when posted):

Month Corsi SCF% HDCF% PDO
October 49.03 51.59 56.54 1.04
November 49.31 54.70 59.05 1.07
December 53.73 52.97 58.66 1.02
January 50.41 51.26 50.97 1.04
February 50.40 49.85 45.26 0.98

Since Matthews 49.74 49.28 39.73 0.96

He's been generating fewer High Danger changes, and it shows. Now he's on the ice for more against as well, which is obviously worse. His PDO is down as well, so there's some bad luck involved, but in watching the games, Mitch has been making some of his own bad luck.

The numbers are lower since the Matthews contract, but they were already trending in that direction, so I'm not sure if there's really much of a correlation.

If anything, the Leafs playing like creatures of habit and teams are adapting to their habits. Good players and good coaches make adjustments. He'll come out of it.

Imagine if Willy's a centre making 6.9 million per who can be PPG? LOL. People thought 6.9 was a ridiculous overpayment?

If you examine Hyman's play you start to see how useless he is. He makes defensive mistakes and has no offensive talent at all. His stats are horrible given he has played with a franchise C the past 3 years.
