And the media points out with regularity when he's in a slump (Matthews). I read, watch and listen to a lot of Leafs content as I'm sure you do too...haven't read, seen or heard any of it for Mitchy. Of course guys will have off nights. This is prolonged, and he needs to be better. Period.

I'm not freaking out at all. My original post was about the fact he's not called out in the media or in this forum with any sort of regularity, and that the ref telling him to "sit down and shut up" was probably the most direct, real thing he's heard in a while. AKA "not blowing smoke up his ass".

I'm sure the coaching staff doesn't just "blow smoke up his ass", which is far more important.

Dude, poopty play is poopty play. The NHL is a game-by-game league...I don't care what a guy did in October. Cups aren't won in October. A poopty play by Zaitsev on Feb 21 = a poopty play by Marner on Feb 21. And no one is freaking out. Calling it like it is.

I've been asking for 91/16 34/29 since Nylander signed. Tavares ran the (frank)ing PP for like 8 years. Get him more touches.

34/29 have chemistry and were great for like two seasons; royal road passes, boom, and Nylander's actually a shooting threat, Marner not so much.

Reward whatever pair is playing the best hockey with PP1 minutes.

He's actually still been getting a fair bit of points though (I think). Just not as much. Also I think more of his issues are about other stuff, like bad giveaways, rather than just not scoring, which the media doesn't seem to pay enough attention to.

Not me. I made a comment and have been replying to guys tucked into bed in their Marner jammies ever since.

The ref telling anyone to sit down and shut up happens 100 times a game.
