Every one of you is proving my point tonight. If you call out Hainsey, Gardner, Zaitsev for poor play, you call out Marner for poor play. Lots of nice photo ops in warm-up though.

Not where he was in October, or how he carried the team in November or where he'll be in a week or two. The NHL is a game-by-game league. The last several games are simply not good enough for a guy that wants an 8 figure AAV with therm.

We just aren't freaking out, cause we know he is capable of more and will therefor return to form sooner or later.

We complain more about guys like Gardiner or Hainsey, because they always suck, rather than only sucking for a dozen games.

It should be a positive, because it suggests he's flexible and willing to try new things.

Unfortunately he thinks outside the box just enough to decide it's a good idea to put Hainsey back on the top pairing. At least he is considering getting Marleau off of Matthews' line. He's really not doing well there.

His argument is asinine. Do you really think Matthews is going to play up to his contract every single game? Look how much Ovi makes. How much McDavid makes. Guess what, they don't score every game either. Does they mean they aren't worth their contracts?

I'm not freaking out at all. My original post was about the fact he's not called out in the media or in this forum with any sort of regularity, and that the ref telling him to "sit down and shut up" was probably the most direct, real thing he's heard in a while. AKA "not blowing smoke up his ass".
