Flames don't have a 2nd plus it's going to be a really late 1st. Flames could resign Simmonds too if it goes well. Maybe Flyers throw in a conditional later pick if the Flames don't resign him.

With the Flames basically rolling on all cylinders, I’d be content carrying on with the team we have.

Maybe send Kylington down and bring Valimaki up to get his game up to NHL pace again, and then we have a really solid defensive group.

Team is clearly content going forward with Smith and Rittich, so won’t be expecting a goalie acquisition.

Neal “sidelined indefinitely”. Does he have a concussion? Czarnik has been a good replacement for him in the lineup.

There's no chance to get Tkachuk and Stone signed long term for less than 14.2 million. If they both sign for the low end of their projected value, it's probably around 17. That puts them above this year's cap. The cap is projected to go up between 2 and 6 million. So how would they be able to keep Bennett, sign two goalies, and fill out the roster?

And another 3-4 mil for the cap going up. Add Czarnik in the trade. There’s plenty of room mr positive. Stone won’t get 10.5 mil per though. More term less AAV bigger $$$$$ overall.

The expansion draft is 2 years away...I'd rather Calgary do what they can to win now and worry about 2021 when it gets here.

I doubt the Flyers would do Mangiapane and Czarnik for Simmonds anyway but if we add a forward at the deadline and Neil returns those 2 will be eating popcorn. If they have any trade value i say trade them rather than picks as Dube, Quine, Lazar provide us enough depth.

Yea it's crazy wouldn't even think that if we didn't have someone to take his place. Just my opinion but 2 tkachuks better than 1.
I doubt Ottawa would even consider this.
