Not only can the Sabres not score, they also give up some of the most high danger chances in the league. I don't even know where to go here.

Mark Messier isn't rescuing this team. It's fair to ask more of him. But considering him a "problem" is beyond far fetched.

8.5m is uncomfortable. 8 years is uncomfortable. JB simply can't walk away at those numbers. TP could veto, I suppose. They simply have to get this done. I don't think there's a number or reason that people will accept if they don't.

One of the problems people need to realize is that the parts you had to trade weren't Duchene or Mark Stone or Erik Karlsson. You're selling crap, what do people think he's going to get back. Scandella is so much worse than last year, but we bought him and some secondary scoring in Pommer for a guy MIN bought out and a bot 6 forward. Sheary was basically free. We're made up of promising young players and mostly average vets. This is simply the state of this team.

We really don't have many average vets, or average anything. We have among the worst 2nd and 3rd lines in the league. Our D pairings rate poorly. Our goaltending is dead average, after starting out much better.

If we had more average to fill out a lineup, it would help significantly.
