Beaulieu looked good to me yesterday and I think he's looked mostly good this year. I know he was awful last year, but, why in the world is Scandella playing over him all year. Scandella has been downright awful.

This team loses cuz it's stupid. Up 1-0 and McCabe for only God-knows what reason totally vacates his side to join two other Sabres checking one Florida player with the puck. Easy pass to the open side, breakaway, goal, tie game, choke starts. Middlestadt, who generally looked good except he can't finish (nor can his linemates), commits a stupid turnover, 2-1. Ullmark, who has been very good all game, lets in a goal a Mite goalie would save. Game over.

The only player with a hockey IQ on this team is an 18 year old, big problem. Sure, he makes mistakes, but he's friggin 18 playing defense

I think you hit the nail on the head in the first bolded part. Overall I don't think the team is too smart.
There are more with the hockey IQ than just 26, but overall the team hasn't been able to learn how to play a system, seems they just want to play shinny.
doesn't seem to be any accountability other than the Phil playing the vets who just don't have the speed and skill anymore.

if there is good news it it is that hey have an opportunity to make several major moves to truly transform the team ... does management have the smarts to pick the right guys???

Wasn't all doom and gloom on the Buffalo front. UB beat Ohio by 47 last night.

Skinner is a one dimensional player. Overrated by Sabres fans
If that's the asking price, then trade him right away. $7 mil for 8 is the max I'd sign him for

skinner is the only legit sniper on the team right now and I love his moxie on the ice...no one really like him on the team and I'm really tired of seeing talented players walk...it's how the sabres remain on the treadmill of mediocrity

Of all the talented players to walk over the past 8 or so years, he would be the best one on that list...by a mile, yes, that includes Kane and ROR.

Yea. I hate having the guy with the 2nd most goals in the NHL.

God I can’t wait for the Sabres to get rid of him.

And then next year ask why they can’t find a winger for Eichel.

If they can win out they should be an at large regardless of the MAC tournament, NIU loss still doesn't look good though

They lost on the road to NIU and Bowling Green by a grand total of 5 points. They're fine barring an epic collapse down the stretch.

Murray didn't give up too much...he stole O'Reilly and Kane.

And by the looks of things, given what Andersen and Talbot went for, he didn't give up too much for Lehner.

People just need a scapegoat, and they chose Murray.

- DJshnooks

With all due respect to Lehner's personal problems, I think fans are angry that Lehner didn't show up to the rink the best he could be. He still took the paycheque but really didn't live up to his end of the agreement.

It doesn't make it right but if if you give Skinner a $3 mill per season raise. That's still less than what Moulson counted on the cap for to hang out in California

That's true but NIU is a bad team, and when selection sunday comes the committee would undoubtedly prefer one MAC squad

If UB ends up winning the tournament, there will still be only one MAC squad.
