Just bring me the trade deadline already. At least something interesting will happen. Watching the season unfold has been depressing. Bring me the (probably underwhelming) trades !!! - kritter65
Why?
You finished with 62 points last year.
You are currently on pace for 88 points this year.
I think the main problem is that you over-achieved in the 1st half of the season, and your expectations were raised higher than they should be.
A 24 point improvement is probably more than anyone should hope for.
Hope may be dying for the playoffs this year, but the future looks pretty bright for the Sabres. |

I think ownership isn't the issue, they spend cash. Maybe not always spending wisely but willing to spend. The Sabres problem is this. The team overall is SlOW.
Promise, get some good skaters and things will change.
The game is different these days |

you're a little lost in the overall numbers...post-streak, as a whole they really look no better than they did last season...skinner makes (made?) a huge difference and having dahlin on defense certainly didn't hurt |

Are you suggesting the Pegulas should move the team to Boca Raton? - Atomic Wedgie
Interesting idea. I think that market could handle two teams. |

The Pegula's are screwed(as are we with them). They've already tried so many different approaches. First they went all in on the system them had. Wildly overpaid a few guys and thought that would be a silver bullet. Nope. Then brought in Sabres legend Pat Lafontaine to be President of Hockey Operations to oversee hockey decisions. When he found out his position wasn't true he engaged in a major battle with ownership. A battle that at the end of the day left him on the outside of the organization. He allegedly was furious over the decision to deliberately tank and trade star goalie(now the winningest American goalie of all time) Ryan Miller. Seems Pat was right and now he's blackballed from he Sabres organization for it. The Pegula's biggest moments as owners have been the laundry list of people they've fired. Ruff, Reiger, Lafantione, Ted Black, Murray, Nolan. Looks like after just 2 seasons Housely, a Sabres legend will be next to be exiled from the organization. And then what? Continue the revolving door of selling hope? The organization is a joke. |

The owners are a problem...
The coach is in over his head...
But at the end of the day its the team who play the game...and this team is not only not good enough to consitently win, but have shown a complete inability to handle adversity. This isnt a new phenomena, this has been happening since "the suffering" began.
Botts single goal for the remainder of the season should be to weed out those in the dressing room who are just there for a paycheck. |

Call me stupidly optimistic, but I can see the Sabres trending upward.
The Bills? I have no reason to believe that the upcoming season will be any better.
Or the season after that.
