If you have a DVR you could probably get the TV to sync the radio broadcast with a little manipulation.
- Ogilthorpe2

Does that work with a vcr? Asking for Sage.

I'll usually stream the game on my laptop with the mute on while the wife watches "My 660 Lb. Life" or "Doctor Pimple Popper". You (I) could grab the the opposing team play-by play or the radio broadcast.

You've obviously never watched. They got 600 pounders lined up to be on that show.

Thanks, but don't bother.

I'm betting it's going to be too much work that WON'T work properly and I'll just get frustrated.

At least I can ignore Cornelison without missing any of the game.

Ha, you should hear the Kings and Ducks announcers. They are nauseating.

On a different topic, I thought Tirico did a fantastic job of announcing, especially since this was his first time broadcasting hockey. He was clear, concise, knowledgeable, and sounded like he has been doing this for years.

It would be nice to be able to watch the game with the radio broadcast, but there is always a delay between the two - very confusing.

We have different timing between our TVs watching the same show.

DVR the game, then sync them up by adjusting the video to the audio.

I read that as well. I think those calling him selfish are in the vast minority. most of the calls for trading him are based on the premise that he is still really good and on a great contract (for what he brings). That combination typically brings a huge return at the TDL. If they were not showing any improvement and getting blown out every night then I could at least see the argument for trying to move him.
- Chunk

The 'selfish' thing is about how he can sometimes respond to things on the ice - the type of things he has copped suspensions for. The actual reactions were entirely out of proportion to what would have provoked a reaction. To claim that a stick in the face is not an over-reation to physical contact on the ice - is just plain wrong.

It has happened a few times, as well - including this season in an incident where most of his penalty minutes have come from ... I think it was what? 50 or so in a single game... and has next to nothing in the rest of the games.

Now, yeh maybe that was born out of frustration at the time, but the fact is -is that was not an isolated incident - and it basically begs the question, when will the next incident happen, and what will it be about?

Everything Keith does is actually mentorship; it is just that not all of it is positive.

i am not in the camp of trading Keith; I also don't dump on his play -in fact, I hope it is usually the opposite- but you know, it still is what it is.

I grew up with Uncle Dale in the 80s. Murray at times will go that route....but JH reminds me too much of Foley.

I do agree...the gap is alarming and why mute is my only option until Foley is gone.

- SteveRain

That's the thing though- I can't remember if Foley was the same way he is now when he was with Uncle Dale. Too long ago. I remember him as being great because of the exile. Same crap then?

I think if Edzo was first and Dale was now, the same issues would pop up. Same thing could be said for almost all announcers that have been around forever. We all get tired of them.

Fair enough. I personally wouldn't call that selfish and more just "losing your crap". He's always been really intense, and he's had a few instances over his career where he went ape spit on opponents. I'm not making an excuse for it (it does hurt the team), I just see it a bit different.

I've been lurking here for probably 8 years, haven't logged in to this account in about 5, but as someone born and raised in the Syracuse area I feel it is my duty to step in and say...... well..... you're not wrong.

Foley used to be great with Tallon because they did a radio/TV broadcast that provided no time for any shtick- just play by play and analysis. Used to love when Uncle Dale got fired up about stuff. TV being the visual medium it is lets Foley and Eddie wander off on their bromance tangents during slow periods of play.
