I wouldn't. not after seeing Mantha steamroll Ward, that is the last thing Crawford needs.
- LAHawk

I'm glad you saw that.....I thought Ward was going to be an announcement saying Ward is out with concussion-like symptoms. It's time to start returning fire.

Lets just throw crap against the wall and if one sticks it shows what a great reporter I am. Friedman this morning on the radio says Blackhawks will only make hockey trades that will improve the team in the future, now he is saying they might be looking at Panarin as a rental cause they are looking for additional scoring due to the defense being weak.

No one could possibly outscore us when we put up 10 a night right?

It's not his skill set BTD. I watch him and he just looks lost. He's on the 4th line. Run around finish your checks and capitilize when you get the opportunity. Often times he is covering air and standing around.
- nickmo2699

He does look lost He just came from an org that has no clue. I bet Strome was frustrated you can see he has good instincts on the ice and getting better.

So my point is he's thinking while he's playing for now which makes anyone slower, and his legs are really weak the way he gets knocked off the puck. Off season of serious core training and a little more knowledge of what's expected of him, he could be a nice bottom 6 player

So you play ADB and Panarin and double shift Kane, and you get twice the production?

Ward got steam rolled by his own player.

That means the hawks brass is in the safe room making calls, no information in or out

NO Chance

Things really must be quiet on the rumor front to spout off something so stupid.

I think it's going to be one of those 'the wheels fall off' type of game, the Hawks are due for one of those.
- DarthKane

Thinking along the same lines. Lose to Colorado, and gain a point (or possibly 2), versus Dallas. A one point weekend would not shock. On a related note, Dallas is more than capable of going into a funk or downward spiral. Limited offensive juice, and a gagworthy track record.

No because I think he is no longer on an entry deal?
- nickmo2699

He is still on his ELC. Waivers has to do with the amount of games played in the NHL.

On a different topic, I thought Tirico did a fantastic job of announcing, especially since this was his first time broadcasting hockey. He was clear, concise, knowledgeable, and sounded like he has been doing this for years.
- LAHawk

Tirico did some of the best play-by-play I've ever heard. Period.

Small sample size. He is just the shiny new toy and we haven't seen his flaws as consistently yet. Mantha blew by him last night like he wa standing still. His footwork was pretty (frank)ing terrible.

For all the grief Forsling gets(not from you btw), people tend to forget how outstanding he played the first half of last season until he seemed to either lose his confidence or Q's confidence in him. I am fine if they give up Forsling in a trade but the recency bias can be a bit much at times.

I am as guilty of it as anyone else.

- Elbows15

Yeah, the bar is set pretty low. Being the second best defender on the Hawks still leaves plenty of room to suck.

Does the fact that he's 23 (24 over the summer) concern you as far as his ceiling goes, pallie? If he were 19, there'd be time for improvement in the physical aspects of the game.
- mohel

No it doesn’t bother me, especially since he spent four years playing NCAA hockey. Actually his adjustment to pro hockey is just beginning.

A little off topic as long as Fife isn't here...

Rough night for Jim Boheim, eh? And the other guy, of course.

They would not win a bidding war for him as a rental. And i am dead set giving away any valuable future asset in players as draft choice or already drafted. With or without Panarin this team has many issues. We probably get humbled in round one if a playoff suitor.

Could be. I suppose I'm skeptical of the four year college kids - not the best track record.

That occasion for sure. You are correct. However, it would appear that goalie hunting this year does not require a license.

Blackhawk playoff probability is rising faster than the Dow. Up to a high of 29%.

COL is at 47% and and 86 points in the last Western WC spot, to the Hawk’s 84.1 point projection.

If we all wish hard enough, it might just come true.

Lotsa people. Dutch, Panarin, #4 d-man. And more! Every big name UFA will require huge money for term into their mid to late 30's. And soon, the board will bark about what a crap deal it is.
- mohel

Honestly, I hope they smartly sign the guy, like a HOssa, who can help them expedite their next step.

Where I lose my mind is the need to give every Tom, D-ck, and Harry a nmc or NTC. The Ward signing I completely understood as they valued a reliable goalie as #1 on their wish list after seeing the disaster last year when CC got hurt.

Bowman's love of aging fs needs to stop though....Really hoping they dont' trade hayden. Solid 4th guy who has some offensive skill to create.
