Would heavily consider going after Duchene and brining Frost into the league to replace Simmonds on the wing. Myers is too much in addition to a 1st tho. Would probably do a 1st and O'Brien with an extension being in place for Duchene.

I don’t like the tone of the whole piece and it fails to address the biggest gripe. The eye test shows Ghost’s play to be extremely up some games and extremely down during others. Do the game by game advanced stats show this?

Yes. Duchene is a fine player but he wants superstar money for a guy who broke 60 points once and is average defensively. You don't get Myers and a first from me for that especially a lottery first

The whole article is a dumpster fire. Why, because it is based purely on ree ree Analytics. The fact it even mentions Charlie O’Connor, who is James Tanner of the Philly area.

In one breath they use adjusted Corsi numbers to prove how bad someone is then right after they make excuses how the numbers don't reflect how good someone else has been based on their numbers. It's a circle jerk of numbers to paint their own story and nothing more.

In 2-3 years the Corsi people will be making fun of people who use to use them and it is going to be hilarious to watch.

How terrible is it that we have to see that stupid William Hill online gambling commercial 40-50 times per game? So annoying, and kinda sad that they can't find any other sponsors to pay for that time. I watch most games with my 6 year old son and he knows almost every word. It's pretty funny when he recites it & acts it out, but makes me feel a little awkward as a father.

Flyersbuzz is full of interesting people. It would be hilarious to have people describe who they think a poster is in real life, then have a reveal. Of course, we are no longer anonymous then. I have a feeling that some folks would be shocked.

The problem with analytics now is the statistics tracked and licensed are limited. So right now people are grasping and making the best out of what they have to work with. This is why everything is based off shot attempts because SAP started to track them more in depth. Now shot attempts are being used to show possession, offense, defense and anything else they can make up out of it. Sadly most of the people that depend on the analytics right now use them as absolute findings, but in reality they are based off of a generic forecasting model to show patterns and predictability. Technically the numbers are not flawed, but how people use them are.

When actual individual puck possession and player movement is tracked and implemented with other collected data points then a whole new world will be opened up. Until those numbers are released to the public people will just continue to fudge the numbers accordingly to write a story that fills their narrative.

Ghost is toast. No team would trade for him. At least not offer a suitable return for us.

Even though Hart let up 3 it seems that you can pinpoint exactly what caused the goal. Turnovers, poor coverage, tips, etc. That goal Elliott let up, even though he played well in his return, was disturbingly common with our other goalies. He seemed to be in position but it still got in. Hart has been a true difference maker.

G needs to step up. Playing center really reduces his production. TB seemed to knock TK all over the ice. And Pigeon hasn't been any help lately.

Young guys starting to produce. Love to see Lindblom get going here. 2nd PP starting to get comfortable with each other.

Let's give Myers a look for rest of year. I like Bailey. Nice wheels, big frame. Needs to be a little more physical. He was knocked off puck a few times.
