For Glak18: do you have nearly this much fun over there on the HF?
For MJL: tell me the truth...didn’t you miss Glak just a little?
Loved the series but it’s handshake line time, got to put this behind us, there’s a new game tomorrow. |

The Flyers got what seems to be a franchise goalie in that draft and we're going to complain about it? Hindsight is 20/20....
BTW, McKenzie had Rubstov at 23, Laberge at 32 and Debrincat at 33. I guess he knows less than the HockeyBuzz posters. - FlyerFan16
I’m good with that draft. Rubstov had playing issue between Russia drama, trade and his injuries. But he played very well for the Phantom before getting hurt. Laberge was favorably viewed but got rocked by that dirty hit and suffered concussion. Hart is Hart |

It works the other way too...many wanted Tolvanen instead of Frost, we will see how that works out. |

I don't know how you can say the 48th pick is a gimme? Also, some experts didn't have Hart as the #1 ranked goalie in the draft. - FlyerFan16
For me it was at least. The amount of picks the Flyers had that year and Hart was no come out of nowhere type prospect. Who was the number 1 ranked goalie that year, Parsons? I am pretty sure Hart was 1 without a close second. The previous year the depth for goaltenders was bottom of the barrel, I remember that because I was begging on here for them to take Sandstrom and they stocked up big time getting 2-3 more goalies. |

Exactly, every team can go back to every draft and say would-of-could-of, but at the time Rubstov was a high rising reach, but Laberge was a solid pick.
The one team I will never forget is Boston with those 3 picks in a row. I don't care if they are happy with Debrusk, but when they skipped over Barzal, Connor AND Chabot 3 times and everyone is screaming what are you doing...that's bad. That is not retrospect, that is WTF. |

2 games for Gudas is fine.
More Myers in the outdoor game. - johndewar
I expected the suspension. I didn’t think it was remotely as bad as the Malkin high stick on Raffl. Problem is, second season in a row for Gudas, so I can’t argue it. |

Far as I know, nope. Maybe they looked at it and saw no issue. Maybe they didn't look because no penalty was called. Seemed no different than the Weber face smash to me, but Weber has a WWF exciting way about him. |

It sure does and that is exactly my point. You can always look back at a draft and say they should have done this or that. Flyers historically have done a pretty good job picking first rounders and recently they've seem to have done a better job in later rounds.
How many teams will wish they took Lindblom in the 3rd round? |

It's a draft, you can't pick all players. I have been pretty satisfied with most Flyer picks, although most Flyer fans want to be like other teams that get Kucherov or Point that make immediate splashes from day 1 in later rounds. To get that player you have to take a risk and most of the time they don't work out, but if you are lucky it does once. |

I'd say we're looking at a 1st rounder and a pretty good prospect. If I'm Fletcher I think the best move at that point may be take those assets pair it with our other first rounder and make a big splash for a legit top pair d-man or at least top 4 d-man. We'll see what happens though. Could always go the UFA route to add another d-man depending on who makes it to free agency. Going to be an interesting off season in terms of seeing how Fletcher wants to shape the identity of this team. He has all the assets and cap space in the world to bring the Flyers to contender status if the right moves are made. |

I didn’t back read but saw that Gudas got suspended 2 games for the high stick yesterday.
Malkin gets 1 game for an obvious intentional stick swing but Gudas gets 2 for what looked unintentional is just wrong.
Past history blah blah blah.
You either meant to do it nor didn’t that’s what a suspension should be based on. |
