Seems like you need to watch it again. MacDonald did not clear the puck up the boards. That is not what happened. You should care because that is why the goal happened. The poor coverage there was not by MacDonald. - MJL
Are you really that dense...wait we know the answer. I never ONCE blamed MacDonald for that goal....
First goal tipped off Ghost's skate while he was trying to block it, although I have no clue what Amac was doing. Pretty funny watching him cross the crease to cover someone on the other side of the ice when his man is wide open on his side. - Glak18
And you need to watch it again, MacDonald is about to send the puck up the boards when Palat takes it and feeds Stamkos for the one-timer.

No that is not what MacDonald is about to do unless you can see into the future. Talk about dense. MacDonald clearly reading the situation is doing the only thing he cold do there which to to try and protect the puck from 3 forecheckers closing in on him and wait for support. He had no outlet or chance to even gather the puck and move it.
I also did not state or insinuate that you're blaming MacDonald for the goal. I'm simply countering your mistaken opinion that MacDonald covered the wrong guy and left his guy alone at the net.

Yeah you're right, it's a sunny day out now...even though there is snow on the ground and it's night time....gotcha.
Screen shot clearly shows open man on the side of the net, but your right Patrick wasn't hanging on Stamkos and Amac clearly didn't skate from one side to the other to follow JT Miller.

3 forecheckers.....Ez Maff
No outlet....Not sending the puck up the boards one bit, I mean that stick flex is fake

I did not dispute that MacDonald skated and followed JT Miller. What are you talking about.
I disputed that MacDonald did the wrong thing there and left the play at the net. That was Patrick. Simmonds was the player who was hanging on Stamkos and blocked his shot.

You are selective in your frame shots which is disingenuous. That is after MacDonald is contacted by the play who was directly on his back on the retrieval. There was definitely a 3rd forechecker sealing the wall off. If you know anything about forechecking schemes and the angles players take to the puck, you'd know that. MacDonald has no outlet on the play and after he was double teamed, he attempted to just do what he could.

You've been wrong on numerous accounts on the play. Resorting to your default meme posting isn't going to change that. - MJL
When someone constantly says incorrect statements, you have to show how derpy they are being. Video clearly shows 3 Tampa forwards enter the zone, not on his back. The video clearly shows Amac get possession of the puck and try to clear it before getting it taken by Palat. The video clearly shows Simmonds blocking a shot then moving out to his man and Patrick covering Stamkos. The video clearly shows Amac follow JT Miller to the other side of the ice where Ghost is clearly at. That isn't even man to man D for beer league hockey.
Simple forechecking scheme. First man in, Miller takes the body. Palat comes in takes away the possible rim to the weak side and then takes the puck. Stamkos seals off the wall and then once TB has the puck moves to the slot for a shot. It's all choreographed and all by design. Plenty of information on line to learn about forechecking schemes. That was textbook by the Lightning.

Incorrect on numerous accounts. MacDonald never has possession of the puck. Clearly shown on the video. Miller and MacDonald pretty much arrive at the puck simultaneously. At least you corrected your wrong statement previously of who blocked Stamkos shot. MacDonald did follow Miller which was what he was supposed to do on the play because Gostisbehere had to cover the shooter.

I get it you think you know hockey schemes, you don't. Very basic dump in, Stamkos didn't even pinch the wall he was already high slot by the time all players reached the puck. Amac was outnumbered 2 to 1 and lost the puck then preceded to blow coverage.
The fact you keep going back to the dump in shows you don't want to talk about Amac following Miller across the ice when he should be covering HIS man. The more I watch the video the more I see Ghost actually played his position well and his mistake was trying to block the shot.

Incorrect.
FYI: The first time I mentioned who blocked Stamko's one-timer was right there, all other references of a blocked shot was Ghost on the point shot. You really need to pay attention better.

That's incorrect. Stamkos was absolutely along the wall to take away the outlet. Basic forecheck scheme. Stamkos skated all the way down the wall to near the goal line. Once he anticipated the double team on MacDonald, he moved to a shooting position.
You're statement of what I don't want to talk about is absurd. First you insinuate that I said that MacDonald didn't follow Miller now insinuating that I don't want to talk about it. Hysterical.
The dump in is the entire play. It's also mind boggling to say that Gostisbehere played his position well there. He was completely non-competitive on the play. He didn't hustle back on the retreival. He didn't engage in the puck battle, didn't mark a single player and he half assed it out and made a weak attempt at the shot block.

Who is Patrick covering? Do you even know what number Patrick is?
- Glak18
More selective screen shots. We're now discussing who blocked the original shot by Stamkos on the play. That was Simmonds, not Patrick. The screen shot you posted here is after the shot by Stamkos.
