And I will say I don't know how Tampa got away with that, it was absolutely baffling watching him work his jaw even many minutes after the incident and still see him sitting on the bench.

0:42 sec mark

No delay at all.

Also ANOTHER case of the ref standing right there, seeing it and doing nothing. These officials need to have an off-season training class again.

This video doesn’t show the third view. They showed it once last night. I slowed it down, froze it and it is clear as day that the face/jaw wasn’t hit. Unfortunately, you can’t see any actual contact, but the point of potential contact was the shoulder. I am not sure anyone sees anything except for the acting which is so embarrassing. Maybe Hägg had to be the fall guy.

So let me get this straight. Gudas suspended and hagg fined but Malkin gets 1 game and then beaks off on Twitter saying he has no remorse for possibly decapitating raffl. Good work NHL.

Well if you find the clip with that angle I would like to see it because the 2 views I have seen has Paquette with impeccable timing with his acting to whip at the exact moment the shoulder crosses in slow motion.

I am not tech savvy enough to produce my own clip, but if I see it, I’ll let you know. When I said light contact, it looks like maybe only Hagg’s jersey touches him...which #13 reacts to and dramatizes.

Gudas has been our most reliable defender all season and we don't have him for two very important games against teams we are trying to catch. Not good

I ask because if you find it then I would like to see it. If it does show no contact than the league should be fining Paquette for embellishment, but you would think if the DoPS saw that video their ruling would of been different. Then again the NHL is so screwed up with any form of consistent structure now.

Also sometimes even when it looks like no big deal it can still have effects, there are hard plastic shoulder pads underneath those jerseys that look super loose fitting, but aren't. Not sure if you have been tagged with a shoulder in the face before, but modern day shoulder pads hurt.

First goal tipped off Ghost's skate while he was trying to block it, although I have no clue what Amac was doing. Pretty funny watching him cross the crease to cover someone on the other side of the ice when his man is wide open on his side.

- Glak18

MacDonald went back to retrieve the puck while Gostisbehere casually glided. MacDonald had a man on his back, another forechecker sealing off behind the net and a 3rd forechecker sealing off the wall. He had no outlet for the puck so he made the right play to cover up the puck to wait for support. It never came because Gostisbehere was a spectator. Gostisbehere didn't cover a single player in the Flyers man to man defensive coverage scheme. The player you're referring to that is open on the other side is actually Patrick's man that he let go.

Second goal was clearly a bad read to throw the puck to open space by Ghost instead of eating it along the boards or rotating to the strong side. By the time Laughton can get over there the Tampa defenseman pinched, dished puck down to supporting forward, he skated across zone, flipped a puck towards the zone, puck gets deflected, hits the post and forward in front of the net buries an easy one. As bad as Amac looked, that's a tough play to defend unless he tackled the player before he got to the puck. Obviously he could of also tied up his stick better.

- Glak18

He has to ignore the puck and take the man and tie up the stick. He was too focused on the puck.

Coyle has been traded

I know we don't really have a need for him but he would have been a good fit here

No but I'm a fan so I will always cheer for them to win and Gudas being in the lineup gives them the best chance to win. I don't believe in cheering for losing.

Possibly. Noone knows to where or for who lol

But I highly doubt it and if it is a 1 for 1 that would be a disaster trade and fletch should be canned

I watched that replay. Hard to tell but it still looks like he missed him or barely glazed him. Complete acting job by Paquette. If you get hit like that straight in the jaw, you're going off the ice. Why wasn't he sent to the protocol?

Nothing said yet

Edit: reportedly Donato and a draft pick, which is what I was hoping for Simmonds. Guessing they wanted a player with at least another year on the contract

Reference for first goal that deflected off Ghost's skate.

1)

2)

As for the 2nd I can agree that yes he has to take the man, but the puck deflected as he was boxing out, turned as the puck was going past Hart (because if the puck hit differently he could of swept the puck out), got pushed as the puck bounced back off the post. Could Amac played it differently, no question, but either way it was a tough play for ANY defenseman in that situation.
