The same clowns on HB are the same clowns on Social Media and the same clowns that buy products from their sponsors. They better damn well know what we are debating. It is their Job - VANTEL
Their job is to get hits and create sensational storylines to get hits and if it so happens the drama created on Social Media crosses over then so be it.
The 48 contracts signed nonsense yesterday made me want to punch a lot of MSM min the face.....what a stupid argument that was.....
I still love ya, you crusty (frank)..... |

I'd like to see Hutton re-signed, and Hutton Stecher as the 3rd pair, like 18 min per night. Hughes 2nd pair, Edler 1st pair. Find two righties to play with Edler/Hughes - they don't even have to be good, just hold a spot for a year or two. Use the guys (they know) in the system already to fill in where needed. - 1970vintage
Edler/ X
Hughes/Tanev
Hutton/Stetcher
Sautner, Breisbois, whoever else from the farm can step in for the 7D. Find someone in FA this year to play with Edler. Trade Tanev at TDL next year, promote from within.

Not surprised they’re fishing for topics especially when all they talk about is what’s in the vending machine at work. |

Isn't the Ginger vs Mary Ann argument popular on those programs as well? |

I could live with that, for one year. If/when they sign Edler I hope it is for consecutive 1 year deals. Pay him full market value (6+) but for 1 yearvat a time, "like the Sedins said they would do if they decided to keep playing". |

cc Pratt....can you do that on here? Or maybe mention that losing Reid Boucher as a UFA without giving him a shot with Pettersson is poor asset management.... |

Down to 25th. I think the best tankers can hope for is 26th, but stranger things have happened. - 1970vintage
With one win a few losses up to 18th. Close near the bottom. Sell parts for higher draft pick. |

I bet you Pratt reads this crap, or at the very least has an intern screen for the best stuff. Knowing what the die hards argue about is found money. |

It seems like a shame to bury those 2 on the 3rd pairing after they have taken steps forward this year but I think it's the most likely.
I think Benning takes a run at Stralman or Meyers this year too.
Hutton Tanev
Hughes Stetcher
Chiarot Sjustr/Petrovic
Would be more preferable IMO. |

That'd be ideal. 2 years might be a compromise, and that'd be okay too. Trade Tanev next year, and the following Edler if he waives, if not retires in that offseason.
X = Karlsson - manvanfan
That'd be a marked improvement, but I still don't want to sign him. That's going to be a terrible contract at the end of it. |

I'd rather see a more even distribution of ice time among the three pairs than one guy playing 30 minutes and another playing 3.
Do you think Greener reads this... |

I'm saying guilt him into one year at a time by saying "that's what the twins would do". |

Lol, perfect. I mean, he doesn't want to play or live anywhere else, so why not take it year by year?

see that button beside the quotes on the top right of a post? it looks like a flag.
that flags posts for pratt to read through and distribute as he sees fit to the other media.
since so many posts get flagged here, it's obvious why so many of our discussions seep into the media. |

why not just have the twins present him the contract? you think he says no or doesn't sign when the swedish mafia make you an offer you can't refuse?
there's a lot of space to hide an uncooperative body in an ikea. |

Give him certainty (NMC) and give him what he would be worth on the open market (E Kane fat stacks), but only a year at a time
But, this is Jim Benning we're talking about, so increase the $ amount, increase the term and throw out a 3rd round pick too. I have no idea how he will give up a 3rd to sign his own player, but have no doubt he will find a way. |

Social experiment, lets fabricate some drama for the next 15 pages and see if it turns up on 1040......maybe Jake Virtanen/Pouliot are rumored to be going to NYR for Pionk/Ryan Strome as per Larry Brooks |

Drama happens organically, no need to fabricate it.
Potential topics:
Gaunce - a decent bottom 6 player
Gudbranson - toughness warrants a spot in the lineup
Sutter - a foundational leader and valuable middle 6 forward
Beagle - see Sutter above
Markstrom - a true #1 goalie
Benning - evil genius or mentally challenged farm hand. |

funny story: back when ek started and it was still at the other site, ek would regularly join in the discussions. (with your join date, you probably know/remember).
anyway, a few regulars devised a scheme to start a rumour that ek would pick up. so we tried to come up with something ludicrously funny/implausible.
we came up with: brian burke (new gm in anh) was seen hanging around with and about to announce that he was going to hire ted nolan as the new head coach in anaheim.
ted nolan was blackballed (apparently) at the time and hadn't been around the league for years. anyway, we started small with discussions and over a week got people talking about it. so what does ek do? he ran with it too. nothing big but he would post that he had "heard whispers" that it was a done deal.
the cherry on the sundae? a few months later nolan was hired in nyi. it was the weirdest coincidence ever. this guy had been blackballed!!!! our rumour was either the weirdest coincidence ever or charles wang was on that chat!!!!!!! |
