Post of the year right here. - Fisticus

Guance is like Boucher, AHL material.
Gudbranson is needed in the lineup as a 900k 7th defensemen enforcer, but we now have that in Luke Schenn.
Sutter is a worse offensive and defensive player then beagle and should be traded as unnecessary.
Beagle, see above.
Benning is an elite AHL general manager and a mediocre NHL general manager. Decent dressing though. |

I don't know if it will be that dramatic of a shift. We still need physicality from the back end and if we get rid of Gudbranson, (which at this point I think we all agree we should) you need someone to be throwing some hits and clearing the front of the net, Edler can't be our most physical Dman
Edler - Tanev
Hutton - ???
Hughes - Stecher
Sautner/Brisebois/Juolevi
Gotta fill that empty slot and I just don't see any players out there who fit the bill. - NorthNuck
I would agree if Goody did any of those things, but he doesn’t, so there (depending on your perspective) won’t be anything missed/or will still be the same thing missing.
Hughes will prove to be generational, Benning will get an extension (in more ways than one), Greener will win back to back Adams, Canucks will have back to back Calders. |

Well let me beat the MSM to this provocative storyline.......Hughes vs Hughes for the Calder with the Canucks having both Hughes brothers!!!

Might not have quite the same impact but will be close. |

I agree that he doesn't even do those things particularly well, which is why I consider him dead weight that needs to be dropped, but the point remains that most of the rest of that D corps is pretty soft. You need at least one player who can be a physical defensive force. |

One 900k name stands above all others, 5th overall pick, Luke Schenn

Guys on the radio we’re talking about what a monster he is. You see players on the ice in full gear and think, “yeah, he’s a big dude”, but hey we’re saying Schennaey walked by in a suit at the dice n ice event and he’s yuge! |

Markstrom has been facing roughly 4 more shots per game, this season, while maintaining the same save percentage.
No doubt in my mind, that the Canucks wouldn't be where they are without his clutch goaltending...thos season. - Reubenkincade
It’s a good point. Not sure i agree he’s played that much better overall, but cant deny the volume. I’d be interested to see one of those high danger/periferee charts where you see the quality. Those are hard to come by |

This "Quality Start" stat gets used around a bit. This is how its measured, I think:
An idea blatantly lifted from baseball, Quality Starts were one of Hockey Prospectus' first contributions back in 2009 as a measure of whether a goaltender "gave his team a chance to win". In order to record a Quality Start, the starting goalie must stop at least a league average number of shots (typically 91.3% prior to 2009-10, and 91.7% since), or play at least as well as a replacement-level goalie (88.5%) while allowing two goals or fewer.
Anything over 60% is great, anything under 50% is bad, while league average being 53%.
Last year, Marky was 50.9%, and this year, he's 55.6%, so a big improvement. |

To be spiteful, yes. If no one else claims him I think the Canucks can just automatically assign him to Utica. |

47 with Hughes most likely, but if that number is correct then that's plenty of room for them to sign overage chl/college players that they like. |
