#CBJ GM Jarmo Kekalainen states emphatically that Artemi Panarin is ill, out tonight vs. #Canadiens. This is not Panarin being held out of the lineup to protect an asset in anticipation of a trade.

Pionk out again tonight, precautionary reasons. Claesson out as well, Quinn said other six have solidified their spots recently. Unsure what he has been watching, but sure let’s go with that.

Fast returns to lineup. Chytil on fourth line with Boo and Brinkley. 12 F and 6 D

All for holding players accountable but how does playing 4th line minutes with 4th line players help develop Chytil

Vesey-Hayes-Buchnevich
Namestnikov-Nieves-Fast

Who is getting demoted, based on recent play, to move Chytil up?

It’s a good question. Not sure I have a good answer. Maybe giving him PP time would help offset the 4th line minutes? Just want to see him work it out

Learn responsibility defensively. He was atrocious the last few games. Nothing wrong with that

If Calgary doesn't make a sufficient enough offer to acquire Hayes, for whom the Rangers are demanding from any team in part to include young and ready NHL talent, he will very likely be extended long term by the Rangers. That due to him having always wanting to remain here, and his agent having had serious contract negotiations with them since last week. The Flames interest in Hayes could be why they have yet made an offer to acquire Zucc, as had been rumored as early as a month ago.

The Avs deadline plans have likely changed due to their even further extended 9-18-7 downfall, after having started the season at 15-6-4. With the Rangers having also in chief scouted besides the Avs and Flames over the last two months, (including at the minor league level), both Boston and Winnipeg, neither has made any trade offer to acquire Hayes. Winnipeg has been awaiting first for Ottawa's decision to re-sign or trade either or both of the Jets first two trade targets in Duchene and Stone, in respective order, with Hayes being their third option. It appears now that Stone is the Bruins first target with them also awaiting the Senators decision.

So barring a late injury suffered by a Cup contender's key center, that likely leaves Calgary as the only remaining for now, rental landing spot for Hayes, among any team also having the best chance at extending him long term. It also helps that they have someone there named Johnny Gaudreau who Hayes knows well, but would still rather re-sign with the Rangers, if they really want to finally retain him for the long term.

Plan is to not risk injury therefore Duchene not expected to be in the lineup for the Sens on Thursday. May have played last game with Ottawa.

Duchene close to being moved?

You see my point though right? Like instead of him getting 11 minutes with Mcleod before now and tonight with Brickley and Nieves he could like 16-18 minutes against men in the AHL while learning how to be a better pro on the defensive side of things.

#CBJ Panarin won’t face #Habs tonight due to illness. Torts was emphatic that Panarin’s absence is not to protect a potential trade asset: “He’s SICK... he poop his pants and he’s puking his guts out.”

No disagreement but do you think Andersson is developing there given the issues with that team?

It was gonna take Andersson longer to develope anyway. He's not as skilled as Chytil in terms of his hands and skating.

Edit: Now I can hope for is that I am wrong on Andersson and he turns into an Alex Steen type of player.

Hindsight is 20/20 but yea, it’s terrible now. Clearly they thought they’d build off the prior years success by adding Duchene
